  • ***Beware Scam Email***

It has been brought to our attention that someone is trying to scam players to get
passwords using the false address: [email protected]

Whilst we address this with the service provider it is worth noting that the correct email
address for Navyfield is [email protected] (yes only one letter difference), but more
importantly we have absolutely no reason to ask you for your password as the GMs can get
it anyway.

The message body of these false messages reads something like:

"Hello!
We are updating our database because of the
problems after the soviet nation update, so please
reply on this email with your ID and password.
Example:
ID: Navyfield
Password: Navyfield
Thank you."

Not sure how this person is getting email addresses, but please beware and simply delete
if you get one, until we can address it further.

And you was wrong. If you name a site, be damn sure you are correct in naming it.

I did not try and blame that, I said it "could" have been from things such as fleet
website or ONF site, e.g external sites, at no point did I say it WAS from ONF.

The Emails on the ONF Website are not available to non admins UNLESS you specifically
choose to make them public. Don't try and blame that Cena.

If it wasn't an individual case then I would assume they got the email addresses via
signing up to fleet websites/onf website etc? Most memberlists show this info.

Also GMs can see our passwords?? Most websites/GMs can not view your password,
but they have permission to reset... hence why they dont tell you your password but
reset it for you, or send you a reset link...

So it was an individual case? Surely theres no need for this sticky. It just induces fear
and panic into those who dont know better.

even old and new fleetsites could be breached and email lists taken...and i agree
with vick about soical sites such as facebook and you say you play it or anything of
the sort

i cant think of any company requesting for your pass to your account

Rem...
**they can burn all your experts...if you have like 700 experts per 50 sailors...you
can do the math with buying them back from the store...its not cheap thats for sure
(cuz if they all over lvl 115 they wont be doing you a favour...cuz chances are slim for
vet conversions...still a loss of money then)

they can also delete your premium ships(im not sure about 2nd pass needed for this
and not gonna try...lol)

and "if " you put your real contact info on this site they get more info and things can
get even more serious

but i trust nf quite a bit so im not too worried
kudos for the warning ...thanks for the alert :)

What do they plan on doing wth your name and pw? They still dont know what you
2nd password is, and so, cant delete sailors, spend credits/points, trade... seems
pointless to me. Maybe Im missing something... just woke up so not fully awake yet.

How does anyone get your email? This is not from us otherwise it would be an awful lot
more widespread that it is. My opinion would be social networking predominantly. Does
anyone who knows your email address also know you play Navyfield? How widespread is your
email and what links do you advertise? Not all that difficult really, especially if you
play any other games and use the same email address. Hit those you find and some will be
the same. But no Sindher, not a breach on our part.
