For those of you who are unfamiliar with the story of the New Website I have a tale of
almost infinite entertainment with which to entertain you with.

The Website was originally supposed to be out around the start of the New Year. January
in other words. Unfortunately this didn't materialise and a discussion on the Fleet
Leaders forum was started.

Now, I won't be doing any quoting from there but suffice it to say there have been
numerous deadlines mentioned in there which started in February and tailed into March,
they April.

Then, the bomb dropped, a comment from Yuno himself stating the following:




The start of May came and there was no sight of this new Website. Yuno did however take
the time to post a May Update. This contained the following Statement:




Now, we are in June and the Website is still not here. The biggest question I have to
pose to the community is why?

SDE has a separate Website Development Team working on this Website, they are independant
of the Devs and don't do any actual NF Ingame stuff. Now, we have been told that the
Server Merge slowed this process down, but the more observant of you will have noticed
that I said this Team doesn't actually do anything Ingame. Interesting.


The Website is now almost 6 months overdue, meaning it has spent longer being LATE than it
has spent with the community aware of it. This is just the latest in an unfortunate line
of SDE projects that are large on promise and short on delivering.

Now, I don't want people to think I am suggesting the website should be released as it is
now, but the question must remain, why is something that was scheduled to take a few
months now spiralling out of control into half a year?

This is something that the community should be aware of, SDE are notoriously bad with
Deadlines. If you see one (and I am not kidding here) add on about half a year to it and
expect it to be about 1/3 as good as you were hoping for.

This is not a flame thread, this is an information thread for those of the community who
are unfortunately not very informed on this matter.
