  • How much credits back when you sell?

When you sell anything, is the fraction of the money you get back the same whatever the
kind of item? If yes, what is this fraction worth? Thanks!

Hey Babs, that info is pretty nice to know and it should be posted in a sticky thread IMO.
Very nice work indeed! Thanks!

Nice work babs

I changed from a Tasuda DD engine to a CV engine and payed a hefty difference in price.
When I changed it back to a DD engine, I got NONE of it back. I guess the level ratio
explains it so that a DD using CV engine will only get 25% of it? Someone should warn the
noobs :(

I have done some research on this.

Hulls and remodels:

See previous posts. Hull refund is 100%, remodel part is 0%. (thus if you buy D38 for
100K, remodel it for 10K to D40 and then sell it you get back only 100K)

FCS and engine:

I did some tests:
1. changing DD engine in DD: loose nothing.
2. changing DD engine in CL: loose nothing
3. changing CL engine in CL: lost 30% of engine value
4. changed CA engine in CL: lost 50% of engine value
5. changing DD FCS in DD: loose nothing
6. changing DD FCS in CL: loose nothing
7. changeing CL FCS in CL: loose 30% (got 5950 creds of 8500)

So we can now conclude that the value you get back for selling engine does not depend on
your ship type but it does depend on what your engine is supposed to be used for. Thus if
you use CV engine in a DD you'll only get back very little.

Refund values: DD equipment: 100%, CL equipment 70%, CA equipment: 50%.
Expected for CV/BB: 70%.

Armour: you get 100% refund for armour.

Guns and Torps:

first some statistics:

First notice that the refund is independent of the type of ship you use: it depends on the
gun you buy/sale

KM 3.46" double: cost: 1450 / refund: 1281 / refund percantage: 88,4%
KM 5.9" single: cost 3000 / refund: 2475 / refund percantage: 82,5%
KM 6.75" doubles: cost: 5700 / refund: 3990 / refund percantage: 70%
KM 8" doubles: cost 6500 / refund: 4163 / refund percantage: 64%

KM 5" double AA: cost: 3500 / refund: 2275 / refund percentage: 65%

KM T1 triple torp tube: cost: 3600 / refund: 3180 / refund percentage: 88,4%

Well the first thing we can conclude is that the refund percentage is independent on the
barrel lenght or on the cost or on the ship type its used on.

However some further experimenting easily unveiled that the refund percentage depends on
the lvl of the weapon: you get back 100%-(GunLevel/120*100).

Look at the 6.75"gun: the type i bought and sold was lvl 38. 38/120*100=30. 100-30=70%
exaclty the refund percantege.

Look at the 5" double AA. its lvl 42. 100-(42/120*100)=65%

Thus low level guns have high refund percanteges. Battleships guns only about 50% (lvl 60)
and uber battleship guns only 25% (lvl 90).

CONCLUSION:

Hull refund: 100%
Remodel refund: 0%
DD Equipment refund used on any class (FCS, engine): 100%
CL Equipment refund used on any class (FCS, engine): 70%
CA Equipment refund used on any class (FCS, engine): 50%
Expected BB/CV Equipment refund used on any class (FCS, engine): 30%
Armor refund: 100%
Equipment refund used on any class (guns, torp tubes): dependant on lvl
(100-(Lvl/120*100)) (rule of thumb: lvl 30: 75%, lvl 60: 50%, lvl 90: 25%)

Have fun.

I thought like trying the Cleve out again the other week, so I sold my Brook.

I ended up with 1.08 million creds.

Bought cleve, outfitted it, put armor on and after all expendentures, had 100k left.

Ship pissed me off after one game, so I sold it. I got 988k back, meaning I lost only
20k.

So it's not too bad.

I think all hulls are 100%.

Yesterday i bought and sold both a Kberg hull and an Mpro hull and got full money back.

Also I bought an D38 and remodeled it into a D40 and then sold the D40. I only lost my
remodel costs so that works correctly.

However for engine, guns and FCS number 9 still seems to be in effect. If you want I can
do some research tonight....

Ok, I found it on page 8 of the full manual under point (5) :

"Once you have sold a ship you will receive 98% of the total number of credits originally
used to buy that ship."

I assume this is for any hull and that the manual is up to date on this.
