  • Ok, use the search button people

I mainly look at the suggestion forums and look into the tips/tactics and trading
forums from time to time... Now on the suggestion forums I have seen many
repeated posts...

A new vet system
Different sea conditions
Day/Night battles
Supply/Support ships in game
The ability to destroy torps

All these have repeated posts by several people saying the same thing about the
subject... Guys before posting simply look a few pages back and use the search
option to see if your idea has/hasn't been suggested.... If it has, forget about
posting a 2nd,3rd,4th post on the subject and post what you think about the
subject in a post already up..... If not well throw it out there for others to see... I am
starting to get sick of seeing several posts about the same thing... This clutters just
clutters the forums

What's wrong with necro anyway, it allows you to bring important topics to the fore. I really don't see why such a
storm is always kicked up...

I'm hoping that the new forums' search function works much better.

When will they new forums be around? Probably within the year >.>

Silent, your necroing makes no sense. If you ask questions related to the thread
that's fine but you reply and give answers/advice on questions that were posed
over a year ago. Those should get locked because those were answered and do
not need to be commented on.

you can search all day long.. but most of the stuff you look for, it seems, is years old..
what is wrong with people asking "does this still work?"

but you cant post that in an old thread because it gets locked for necro!

so deal with the new posts until the mods learn to stop locking old posts. who gives a
crap if a post has 300 replies.. better than 300 posts on 1 topic.

it's kinda funny how you make a 5 and 1/2 year old necro on this thread, and then ask
about old threads getting locked for necroing :-/ lol

Anyways, yes, if you're too specific in your search, you won't find what you're looking
for. normally only one or two words in the search field is enough to find the threads you
want to get the info from.

also, it only takes an extra minute (maybe less) to go to a different section of the
forums and search there for the info you're looking for if you didn't find it in the
previous section, so I don't think there's much need for what you're suggesting :-/

silent...they rarely get locked if a solid point or need for the necro is in fact
present/valid.

well, what about if you use the search button, but then the thread gets locked for
"necroing" ????

Also, i think one of the main reasons people spam new threads is because the search
function does not work as good as it could. Coupled with the fact that they want
everyone to see their brilliant idea, and many other reasons.

My suggestion is simple. Make topic tags and allow the search function to operate on all
the forum sections. not just the one your in. IE: if you search for submarine, it searches
in suggestions, discussion, test server, and the 6 nations.

I have seen the same problem a lot in the Tech Suppourt section.

Just a few notes on the search, be as broad as possible. Question on how to verifiy email?
Just head on over to Tech Suppourt section put "email" in the search and CLICK ON SEARCH.
You should get at least 10 resluts with an answer to your question.

If we dont search, or place posts in the approprate forums we will have chaos here, then
if you are looking for an answer to a question you will have to wait for an answer. Unlike
if you used the search function.

Thanks!
