Just found a very nice website with pictures from wrecks like the HMS Renown, IJN
Kuma or USS Lagarto.

What experts believe to be part of the IJN carrier Kaga sunk at Battle of Midway.

Yeah the shipwreck pics alone show how nasty the buisness of war is. Alot of good men on
all sides are intombed in these rusted hulks that lay on the ocean floors. The most tragic
ones has to be the HMS Hood..of 1,418 men on board 3....THREE survived. Bismarck went down
with 2,106 men lost and the Yamato took 2,475 down with her. Also the Arizona with over
1000 men lost inside her sunken hulk.

Dr. Robert Ballard whom discorvered the Titanic wreck also is the one who discovered the
Yorktown (which is far deeper then Titanic FYI), Bismarck as well as several ships sank in
the Guadalcanal campain (Iron Bottom Straits) He has located what is believed to be the
hulk of the Kirishima sank via a severe pounding by the USS Washington and USS South
Dakota. Discovered what may be part of the IJN Kaga and future hopes of finding more
vessels in the Midway vacinity in the near future. He searched for the Fuso as well but
never found any sign of it.

The Japanese underwater survey research crew who found the Yamato are also expected to go
in search of the Musashi some time in the near future. They are hoping the Musashi
wreckage is a bit more complete over the scattered Yamato wreck which violently exploded
as she capsized to port and one of her main forward magazines exploded which severed the
bow section. The huge hole in the midship/aft area is that from a secondary mag that blew
during her sinking as well.

Gneisenau (eventually lifted, towed and scrapped)

Scharnhorst was found in 2000 with side scan sonar...no pics I could find on net.

H44 was never built so.....

HMS Hood (suffered severe damage during sinking and is scattered along a massive debris
field. The ship herself is in peices along the bottom instead of sinking and settling in
one hulk.)
