Proposition of this suggestion:
adding several AA guns that did exist onboard warships in game but did not have
corrisponding gun that can be load and use by players.

I aren't a pro in these but just hope this would have given a opprotunity for
us to play our game with a wider range of choices,

Adding this gun sure might make lags if many players spray these shell to the sky,
but look at the bright side,

-> it does give another option for Close to mid range AA option
-> give another option for beginner~junior players to have a better (well maybe)
guns that have a higher % to hit planes within in ranges
-> solutions for ships that have small secondary weapon slot to load AA guns
-> Better way out for the beginner FF~CL's, giving them a solution that they can
be 'combat-effective' rather than 'rush and die' 'blocking Capital ships' in GB/GBII

i'm expecting negative comment to this, but please, i'll be glad to see
some comments that state why it is not a good idea to put it in to the game.

Well as we all know, before the KM SS4 comes out with it 'overpowered' flak38 quad,
there only the pompoms is the guns that smaller than 3" with AA ability,
but after the flak38 comes out [but before French comes out too],
than i start to think :
Now we got 2 existing AA/machine guns that is way smaller than a 3",
but meanwhile they sometimes can be seen onboard a ship structure,
why not making all these AA/machine guns that we can see in the game to come to
service?

As i said above and another post in this section did talk about,
like the USN, it isn't hard to find a 4x40mm bofors onboard a ship,
but all we can do is "watch it in the shipyard,look how it firing meaningless Auto AA
to the sky and not hitting a darn plane"

So, then i look up the web and bunch of history books about weapons,
then i got this list of AA's that maybe ideal to add to game,

* Judging by the UK forum it seems the UK will be at a disadvantage
if they class their sailor to AA gunner too soon because it will decrease
their effectiveness with larger caliber guns...oh well.

Mattmaster56 comment on Guns cal. :
Anything smaller than 20mm is ineffective in my opinion which is why I didn't include
the japanese and french 13mm AA Guns.

What would also be great is if they added a few extra slots that can only hold these
smaller aa guns since quite a few certain ships lack enought slots for effective aa
such as the bismarck. Also none of these should ever have HE added or we're
screwed.

Greeting all, Final exam killing up my time.
here goes the graph that i mention in previous reply:

Thanks to RockmanSuen mate providing source graph and RSX1 for the idea of the
prototype range for each gun/ nation range.
Above graph shows to you the Current range of Pom pom Gun and the Flak38 gun
range @ 45' , which in the graph, 5 pom pom is firing and 3 Flak 38 is firing at the
same time

and this following graph illustrates you the "prototype" range graph which in refer to
rsx1 ideas:

Each line represents as tagged , IJN and MN Guns "line of fire" is relevantly travel in
a bit more straight flight, just like their own 4.7" (IJN) and 3.5" (MN) AA gun do to
gain longer range with a faster projectile.

There were problems that apparently The MN do not have a AA gunner (they did
which is a machine gunner but are locked) , which most Player use Rld.Huge.Gunner
instead. This suggestions might need to do some adjustment in response to this
condition.
Next update might be delayed at least 3 weeks as the final exam coming up pin me
down on my study.

By the way, personally i don't suggest to add a 'socalled' Y slot especially for
Machine guns, which in another words, the idea of adding Y slot is like removing the
Auto AA and make it fire manually. This would have cause :
-> a rebuild of the game system,
-> re-measurement of the displacement to each ship,
-> re-calculation such as gun weight,shells space, shell weight... etc.

So, personally i don't recommend the idea of Adding Y slot, because this would just
make this suggestion more likely to be ignore by SDE, Adding Guns would be a way
more easy solution as it won't invlove in programming new systems etc. .

recommended. Uh, this was said already, but just supporting it...

I would support another slot (R/T/Y...move ammo compartments to U). R would be main
guns. T would be secondary guns, and Y would be your AA Machine Guns; along with
two more sailor slots for AA gunners and 2 for secondary weapons, for a total of 6
gunners.

The Y slots (I did like that idea where we can increase the number of gun slots for AA
guns) would be spread around the ship....obviously.

improve the suggestion :D thanks a lot of that

but since the main post is becoming hard to read due to it length, i'll only put your

Well I was thinkin about the stats for each nation/gun and came up with this. I know
they dont follow what they where like in WW2 but little in this game ever does and
its more for balance following the current AA strengh/weakness of nations.

IJN
The IJN would make up for its lack of volume, reload and damage by having the
longest range machine guns to the point that its allmost as long as other nations dp
guns

The KM would be low damage mid range and have a very fast reload.

guns and the Bofors would hit hard and far but reload much slower.

it was a long while that i halt updating this thread due to work load issues,
now the suggestion is being simplified,and thanks to RockmanSuen mates that
consistently giving relevant info and graphs to help illustrate ideas in order to
improve this suggestion quality, please comment,ask question or recommend if you

well once again thanks to your valuable support,but this is the first time i got some
conflicts with your ideas:

well you say the flak38 should be short ranged , well maybe you trying to say it in a
balanced way but according to wiki , the flak38 quad is a quite effective mid-range
AA with rapid fire speed, so this may need to reconsider

btw, thanks for the list, that save me a lot of times, v5 is still ongoing, maybe will
done within 1 hr
