  • What do you think about GBII?

lately i have noticed there are always 2-3 GBII open filled up with 20 bbs waiting for CVs
to start. i am starting to get sick of waiting 8 minutes to start a room.

hosting normal rooms/select mode/GBI is not an option because these game modes pretty much
never start, or if they do they take even longer than GBII.

what are your thoughts on this one? how do you think it would be possible to fix this issue?

Remenents
The biggest issue with BBs is the fact of shared exp and getting max exp for
gunners even with 0 exp now. Now players simply leach thier way into BBs and have
no clue how to actually play them. And then, instead of lvling a scout with the crew,
they lvl nothing but supports and then enter games with no scout and bitch they
cant see. Today, in 6 games, I saw about 15-20 BBs with no scouts. Most were
BB1/2s, but I saw a few 3/4/5 with no scout either. WTF?? Seriously! SDE needs to
have a rule set up like they did with BBs and guns... no scouts, no enter GBs.
PERIOD! I am so tired of BBs bitching at my CV for not doing everything. If players
want more CVs to play, then learn to play a BB first and stop calling them noobs
every 2 seconds bcause your stupid ass doesnt carry scouts.

It would still be good for venting and would give me a good laugh.

lol, that wouldn't do you any good, because they you would either get yelled at for not
sinking ships or not shooting down scouts or not shooting down bombers....

Exactly. I'm temped to get out my CV from...well.....god knows where I put it. Haven't
played it in months. Anyway, I should get my CV out and start screaming "NOOB BB I'M
SCOUTING GO SHOOT HIM!!!!!!!!!!"

Thank you K. Just being objective and honest, yesterday being my first full day of playing
in GB2 as a CV, was an eye opener. The negative attitudes there are quite uncalled for.

Lionel hit it right on the nose. The issue isn't the fact that there aren't enough CVs.
Not by a long shot. There's TONS. They just refuse to play it because of all the
screaming from BBs. CVs have 4 different kinds of planes possible. It's usually only 2-
3. Sometimes 1 or 4. The point is, it's only 1 person. How can you expect 1 CV to give
FC, scout, bomb, micro manage, not run into open by mistake, and avoid subs? CVs
have the entire community resting on their shoulders. BBs can just go kamikaze into
the open and die doing 0 damage and no one cares. If a CV lets ONE BB get bombed,
no matter how much damage, they act like the CV just set off a nuke on the team
and start screaming at him for doing something bad. Honestly, if BBs would stop
constantly whining because the CVs can't wipe their butt all the time, GB2 might have
a chance. I must admit, I have seen pro BBs, but it's about as common as winning
the jackpot at a casino (hyperbole, but still).

Options:
Remove GB2
Stop the rage
Stop playing GB2
Play CV before playing BB (to know how difficult it is)
GET A SCOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do think something needs to be changed, nobody wants to play cv, anymore everyone
blames cvs and calls them noobs, its why i gave up on my cv lines

I have a crazy idea, how about stop yelling at CV drivers? Every mistake is put under a
microscope. Drive a BB and make mistakes, no one cares. Drive a CV and make a mistake and
the game isn't very fun. Yesterday being my first time as a CV in GB2 I had some
interesting moments. Here are some of my favorites:

I had a BB5 call me a noob because I wasn't scouting for him. Meanwhile, I had a flight of
six T1s all get shot down by a single T4. Expecting a L60 CV to put fighters over the
enemy' heads as scouts and last long enough to matter is stupid. When I stated that I was
getting wiped out and doing the bet I could, it was "an excuse".

I had a BB3 call me a noob because I wasn't scouting for him either. That one actually
made me laugh, as he, a BB4 and a BB5 didn't have scouts either and again with limited
vision from my bombers and T1s dropping in the drink I really wasn't in a position to do
much there to help. How you could have a ship with 18" guns and no way to sight for them
on your own if needed is beyond me.

I had another BB driver demand I give "vision". No location, no target, nothing, just
vision. Then, of course, I'm a noob for not lighting up the right place on the map.

Of course, I had my own screw ups. I wasn't paying attention to the battle map and I
didn't realize that the all-star BB cast had all been wiped out in front of me. As flag,
down I went under a hail of 16" salvos. Yea, that was an error on my part that shouldn't
have happened and I heard about it.

My point is that this is a game. You can't expect people not to make mistakes and you
certainly can't expect impossible things, like a L60 ship with T1s taking on a L120 Midway
that is carrying nothing but fighters. Demanding the impossible, name calling and
belittling isn't conducive to bringing CVs to the game. Losing some battles, having crew
death and mixed results I was ok with. The attitudes of some of my fellow NF BB players
I'm not ok with, which leads to my final point.

The only people who didn't yell at me were other CVs. I had them offer tips, offer free
pilots, reminders and of course tactical aid. With a little bit of help, I was able to
make a difference. I sunk ships, I shot down scouts and at times I even was able to give
vision to critical targets. The point is that CV players seem to know well how demanding
it is for a L60 ship with a new learning player to face not only bigger ships but more
skilled competition and they seemed willing to help, as opposed to tear down or chase away
players.

The hallmark of a good leader is a person that can inspire followers who are not
successful, to change and become successful. If you have CV-less GB2 rooms, my suggestion
is for the BB community to be a little bit more friendly to the CV community, especially
the low level CV community. After all, if there are complaints that the game is "dying"
why chase out new people????

well of course its never going to be perfect, but usually people that have 60%+ dont get
killed within 2 minutes
1 2 3 4 5
