A sixth QE was to be named Agincourt.

Repulse and Renown were to be part of the Revenge class, along with Resistance.
The latter was cancelled.

The 'Admiral' class (Hood) was to include 3 additional units, Rodney, Anson, and
Howe.

Howe and Anson were originally to be named Beatty and Jellicoe.

Other possible BB names to consider are the ones proposed for the G3
Battlecruisers (Invincible, Inflexible, Indomitable, and Indefatagible) and the N3
Battleships (St. Andrew, St. David, St. George, and St. Patrick) There is also the HMS
Incomparable project (1000 ft battle cruiser with 3 twin 20 inch guns) which never
got built.

I can also supply older (WWI era) capital ship names if interested

Actually, I believe ingame they're too short. At 279m, the Malta should be longer than the
Iowa at 270. It's not, I believe. In fact, it should be longer than any existing WW2
battleship or carrier.

a trick of light and shadows?
Too much dizzy juice?
Or was it the spirit of the mighty Hood. The ship with a nations hope riding on her.
Was being sunk, in such a sudden manner too much for her to just fade into the
past? Who knows. She slipped under many years before her time.

God Rest those poor brave boys who still sail apon her decks. And all others who
paid the ultimate sacrifice.

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."

Lest We Forget..........

Man, I agree. Something happened to me after reading a poem from the HMS Hood assosciation.

Here's the verse;
'And some I see to harbour come as thro glasses dark,
the Barham and the Glorious, the Eagle and the Ark,
and then, there comes the greatest, the mighty warship Hood,
dark and grey and wraithlike, from the spot on which I stood.'

When I was flying back to the UK, I luckily had a window seat, and was landing in
Heathrow. I looked out of the window as we were flying over the city, and for a moment,
just a brief moment, I subconciously imagined the mighty Hood sitting there on the Thames,
as real as ever. Then it disappeared. That was odd.

RNM i couldn't agree more. bring back the old school names. This is Tradition were
talking about.
I have an un-wavering love of history and reality. I try to keep my ship names as
close to the real thing as i can, but i do on occasion substitute names that i like that
havent been used by RN or her commonwealth partners. I try to bring what i can to
this game for the enjoyment of all. And, I am glad to see that I'm not t he only one
who thinks like this.

Heart of oak are our ships, heart of oak are our men;
We always are ready, steady, boys, steady!
We'll fight and we'll conquer again and again.
