Deadlines.

Splid	For those of you who are unfamiliar with the story of the New Website I have a tale of almost infinite entertainment with which to entertain you with. The Website was originally supposed to be out around the start of the New Year. January in other words. Unfortunately this didn't materialise and a discussion on the Fleet Leaders forum was started. Now, I won't be doing any quoting from there but suffice it to say there have been numerous deadlines mentioned in there which started in February and tailed into March, they April. Then, the bomb dropped, a comment from Yuno himself stating the following: The start of May came and there was no sight of this new Website. Yuno did however take the time to post a May Update. This contained the following Statement: Now, we are in June and the Website is still not here. The biggest question I have to pose to the community is why? SDE has a separate Website Development Team working on this Website, they are independant of the Devs and don't do any actual NF Ingame stuff. Now, we have been told that the Server Merge slowed this process down, but the more observant of you will have noticed that I said this Team doesn't actually do anything Ingame. Interesting. The Website is now almost 6 months overdue, meaning it has spent longer being LATE than it has spent with the community aware of it. This is just the latest in an unfortunate line of SDE projects that are large on promise and short on delivering. Now, I don't want people to think I am suggesting the website should be released as it is now, but the question must remain, why is something that was scheduled to take a few months now spiralling out of control into half a year? This is something that the community should be aware of, SDE are notoriously bad with Deadlines. If you see one (and I am not kidding here) add on about half a year to it and expect it to be about 1/3 as good as you were hoping for. This is not a flame thread, this is an information thread for those of the community who are unfortunately not very informed on this matter.

This is something that the community should be aware of, SDE are notoriously bad with

Kilaenots	I don't think anyone actually cares it is late, it is just the fact that there is no communication. SDE please just say it's not done give us a week or 2.

clemo85	SDE and deadlines. Two words that do not belong in the same sentance unless it is ''Do not believe the DEADLINES SDE set themselves''. I find it better to live in denial of what they say they're going to do, then when it does happen its a nice surprise!

Splid	I would also like to wait for good content rather than rushed content, but for the sake of something being over 5 months late, I think there is a limit to it.

Sindher	You must be pretty slow if you dont know who Sparximus is. Then again, you dont really know any of your new applicants that well so I'm not really suprised.

Splid	Well, someone might want to look at the history of things in this game that changed because of public opinion. 300SD patch anyone for example. Feel free to PM me your real ID then or post it here :)

richardphat	According to Dampre's term it is going to be soon and unlike Duke'nukem terms. I expect 2-3 weeks max this case. Hopefully, they bring a much more epic fail website that will make everyone the old forum.

sparximus3	"For someone at lvl 1 forum account and someone I have never heard of before you sure think you know who I am..." of course i know who you are, i've only butted heads with a million times....heres a hin t tho, i am NOT principes:P i post on this account as my main isnt verified and still cant post on these forums....still working with GMs on that "If I wanted to try and kill this game I could just go and find all the evidence of SDE being informed of cheaters and not banning them (and I am talking XP hacks here :)), or maybe why SDE don't go to the GNGWC anymore..." i am not saying you are DIRECTLY trying to kill this game, however you as a veteran of this community have to think of the effect you are having on someone who comes to these forums, all they see is some dude whining about a website CONSTANTLY and ******** about SDEs failure to comply with what they said etc thereby driving players away from the forums, and eventually the game due to either mistrust of the company running the game or the hostile nature and insults from the vets in the community. "There are a lot of skeletons in SDE's cupboard, if we wanted to air them it would cause a lot of entertainment." yes you are right it would being about a short burst of entertainment, however it owuld ultimately leave a sour taste in the players mouth, which will eventually drive them off.....it drove me off for a year and when i found out about the USSR release i decided to give NF a try again..... all i am asking is for you to stop commenting on it, you are nothing more than a veteran player in this community. You are not more endowed than me, or sindher or even that little lvl 1 guy that started just yesterday. You arent in charge of anything on the corporate side of SDE and therefore your post on these forums is meaningless to say the least. You can hide behind the scapegoat of you are "informing" the community all you want, but last i checked yuno and not you was in charge of the PR for SDE.....if i am wrong please feel free to correct me good sir:) Language edited by Bloodsky

i am not saying you are DIRECTLY trying to kill this game, however you as a veteran of
