  • Best BB Crew Setup

Hi everyone,

I know there are similar topics, but I can't seem to find one with the info I'm looking for. I'd like to start a US bb crew (to eventually get bb6) and I want to know what sailors are best. I've heard a lot of people recommend this:

 

1 bo, 2 gunners, 5 eng, 3 rep, 1 scout.

 

While this is nice, I still have some questions. Does repair ability or eng ability cap? If so, how many sailors will it take to reach this cap and what level will it cap? Can I use eng/rep from my uk bb crew or do i need to make new US ones? What base should my main gunners be and how should i level them? (I can get prem and/or boost them). Also, I am not a fan of aa gunners. (but if my eng and rep caps with extra slots left over, I'll make AA gunners)

 

Please give me some advice on the best crew setup possible, how to class my sailors (main gunners), if UK rep/eng skills are transferable to US (I know some nations transfer skills), and what sailors I should buy elite and/or boost. Thank you guys for the help.

 

P.S. I've made a US BB5 crew on Navyfield Europe, but it's been a long time since I played US.

I have been playing Nebby for over a year now and in my personal opinion this is the best setup: 2 main gunners +2 RLD for AA or HH 5eng 3 rep and a scout. The reason i use AA or HH is because th armor isnt the best and if faced against a good sub or a pack of dive bombers you are pooped... Its really based on your preference whether you wanna go AA or HH... I usually go HH because Nebby has an alright turning force to dodge dbs. I would suggest having Elite gunners because that will help you in the beginning and in WaW and level them all accuracy for the main slot. Id say for future reference... Have a all Elite crew... it will make it that much easier to sell and preform at earlier levels untill the cap.

hi there,

lets see for a bb6 u will need a total of 14 sailors. that should be your sailor number for all bb crews.

You have the choises of going 2 main guns(acc or rel up to you - i prefer reload though) 2 reload gunners (class same way as your main gunners - aa guns for us are not usefull and wouldnt advice you to make them) 3 reps and 5 engs or you can have 4 reps 6 engs  no second pair of gunners.

however the second pair of guns might come usefull when you are in lower bbs and can not line fight due to range at least u can be usefull (and make some exp from aa or hh- killing subs).

Both repair and engine cap. Repair i think you can manage with 3 reps bve +12/elite and over vetted (109+). For engine the speed of your ships caps but the overheat (how long you can run while being in red zone) does not. which means the more the engs (same lvl though) the longer you can run on overheat.

Although uk mn and sn engs can be used on us ships (i think basically allied nations) it is not advisable as they loose ability and would underperforme on other nations. It is better if you use same nation support.

Thank you for all of your advice. I read the guides and comments; they provided plenty of help. Now I just have to start putting my crew together and soon I'll have a US BB line again :D

you have 14 slot, not 12...

 

the best way to go (for me) is 4 rep and 4 engys. All the reps should be +12 rep +10 rest. all engys should be Elite or +12(eng)+10(rep)+10(rest).

 

if you go for 5 engys and 3 reps while doing your grind shure you will hit speed cap of every ship before, but your repair will suck, so you'll end up in a "faster" boat who can't repair quick enough to be back in busines when you go behind friendly BB line

yeah, either 4/4 if you like good repair, or 5/3 if you prefer speed.

Forget about the repairers' and engies' restore stat - your restore will hit 900 soon enough (at BB3 level). A good repair stat for engies is much more important.

6 engineers 4 reps.




Reps vet capped.


Engineers can be 150-200 vets, but vet capped its nicer.

You'll have great repair rate, plus 4ish minutes of continuous OH.




Or 5/5 if your not willing to blow that kind of money in this game.

 

I personally classed my gunners rld rld acc. I only did this since I had them @ 100 vets as soon as I could.


Acc rld Acc or Acc rld rld would be my current choices for.




for references. I repair cap with 5 reps, I get 257 dp/sec repair with 4 (my reps are not vet capped)
