Ok as many know I have been having issues with the game freezing when I enter into a match and waiting for it to fill up and start....

Normally this would happen every other battle....This issue has killed my ability to take advantage of the event xp and premium. kinda sucks..

Ok symptoms if this is happening.....

log into game.
pick a ship
join a battle.
if you cant move the ship around or cant type and hitting esc key does nothing you have this issue.

Now this issue is not a constant for all systems and or operating systems it seems.
However if this is happening to you then here is a solution that I found to work.

step one . go to your navyfield file. Hopefully if your running windows7 64 you put it in the progam files (x86) section
step two set compatibility to win 98 on navyfield exe, navyfield launcher, and the updater.
step three disable visual themes
step four run game.
the next steps are optional but I cant discredit them.
step five open up your system and chose advance options
step 6 under performance select dep and add in those same three applications you set the compatibility for.
step 7 while still under performance set visual effects to performance. and apply....
step 8 start game....

Now this worked for me on my amd turionx2 2.2 ghz windows 7 ultimate 64 laptop. So results may vary, but it worked for me and Im so thankful.....
since 1323 the game has been almost unplayable...now I can play.

OK This MIGHT work but ...

WIN 7 setting the compatibility to Win98 should be a LAST RESORT and it may induce in game lag and stutter
Standard setting for WIN 7 is no compatibility Mode.

The issue with setting win7 to compat 98 is people just right click the icon on the desk top and to that, completely ignoring the fact that is just the launcher and not the game itself. So when you get all three programs that are needed to run nf on the same compat you actually smooth out the performance.

Now I have noticed some minor lag under heavy loads of localized aa smoke and fighters, however it is not crippling nor is it as bad as I have seen this thing go....so really its something to experiment with.

so far I have had 5 people test this on win 7, 32 and 64 on vista 32 on xp and all of them have said the same thing...they are playing now for many hours with out a freeze or crash.........

so if you get this issue please try it out and if you get a result that doesnt work please share. And if it does work SHARE

It's only gonna work for a very small group that havent tried all possible solutions on client side. Those of us who allready tried these ''fixes'' are still suffering from fatal flaws in client/server.

**Edit** It might work for you now, but there are a good chance that the problem returns after a period.

so far it has worked for 5 dif people using different setups....so ummm that seems to show some validity, but did you try this recently....I know you said you have done everything however with all the attempts to fix they have done some times that which doesnt work then will work now.....simple tester logic there.

''Simple tester logic'' as you call it, are that you follow up each failed attempt to make something work with other attempts and connect them in variations from ''basic'' every time something changes. Not, it could work now when it didn't before. That's more like dumb luck than anything else. Since SDE Dev Team haven't made any signifigant changes other than change some .data files and few other things remotely connected to the issue, it wouldn't change any setups you could do client-wise.

I have done that simple tester logic. It took over 70 failed attemps to improve ****, untill I finally gave up. You cannot ask people to do this every time SDE ***** it up. But yes I have tried it after latest patch, as I have done after every patch, and there has been no difference.

And as my original statement: ''It only works for the small group that haven't allready tried it.'' My point only came alive when you said 5 people.

I have this in test now and have shared it with a limited number of users and so far the results are good.

@dk I feel for you man i really do I was just like you screaming murder and pissed. However sometimes you have to take a step back and calm down, since then I have been working to make work arounds to there issue, and I would like to say im not a part of sde, nor a mod, nor a gm or anything, I just got tired of watching one mod taking all this flak and I stepped up.....

Note red sky has has been using and testing this work around and half our members have been unable to play are now able to play.

Chivalry I'm not out to get you. Sorry if you thought so. I know you aren't a part of SDE employees. I can tell you that my friend who has 2 computers W7 32 and 64 and he did try this some time ago. Both computers suffered from this issue. With the 64 he was able to by these fixes to run normal, but after a few weeks the problem returned and he was unable to fix it again. He got 19 years of programming experience, especially for games (and one of the best in my country), so he should make anything work if it's possible. SDE are pissing on us and hopes we find solutions by tweaks and work-arounds rather than, that they are gonna fix anything. Lazy or incompetence, I don't know.

And I didn't say it wasen't working and it couldn't produce results.^^
