  • HackShield Crashing

Hello, a friend of mine is having trouble starting Navyfield. I've played with him in the past so I have no idea what's wrong. We've tried  pretty much all the common solutions  and still no luck. heres his setup:

PC
Windows XP 32 bit
2.4ghz Pentium 4
1.5gb RAM

Game is installed on partition D drive.
No compatibility setting.

Updated install.

He's getting Error 204 from Hackshield when it crashes. Also, I have to post for him since apparently he can't get his email verified or send in any support tickets...

This error is assumed to occur when Hackshield is prevented from accessing certain protected key features on your PC.
There are currently 2 confirmed causes of Error Code 204:


If you have Windows XP/Vista:

1. Certain Anti-virus Programs (Avast in particular) are currently experiencing compatibility issues with Ahnlabs' Hackshield. Even with the Anti-Virus Program fully disabled, Error Code=204 may still occur.

2. Also, you may need to manually update your Hackshield.

Okay so lets try 1 thing, go to your navyfield folder, go to "HShield", open up "HSUpdate.exe" let it run. When complete restart your computer and try to run navyfield again. This should work.

We've done #2 already, sorry for not mentioning that.

He does have Avast though, I'll see what he says what happens when it's off.
