Howdy Gents,

I have been looking through the RM forum and havnt found a great answer to my question regarding the crew set-ups.

  • For starters Gunners:
  1. -Which would be the best choice? Elite Acc or Elite Rld?
  2. -Would an elite reload still hit the accuracy cap?

  • For Supports
  1. If RM has cheif class repairs, then would only 3 elite repairs be nessicary to hit the cap?
  2.  -It has been suggested to use 6 engies, assuming one was not using AA would that really be the best choice?
  3. If one were to use AA how should they be classed

Thank you all for any input, anecdotal information is surely welcome

rm receive a boost on reload. However accuracy wise they will always suck. The spread is going to be like a shot gun no matter what. Personally i went with Elite accuracy just to improve the spread as much as possible.

As for the support i decided not to lvl up aa guns and instead to prepare 4 reps and 6 engs.

This way you dont have to overkill your self and your wallet in order to overvet the reps and with 6 engs is more than enough to have a descent OH on your engine.

Possibilities are unlimited the choice is yours.

I went for elite accuracy gunners, the spread is still terrible.

But, if my growth projections are correct, RM gets such a huge bonus to reload that boosted elite accuracy gunners will reach the reload cap around lvl90 even if they have no experts or vets. With 100 vets, boost and full experts its somewhere around 65-70. Which is incredibly early considering its an accuracy sailor.

Boosted, with 100 vets and full experts they hit the accuracy cap between 55-60.

Considering my example Accuracy sailor hits reload cap at 70 and accuracy cap at 60, I would assume a Reload sailor would hit the reload cap around 60 and the accuracy cap around 70. Assuming you boost, vet and expert. Even if that assumption is slightly off, it's still a good bet youre safe either way, choose reload or accuracy based on whichever cap you want to reach first. *Cough*Terrible spread, choose accuracy*Cough*

Again, I similarly went for the same support as above. 4 Repair/6 Engineers/1 Scout

No AA because from what I read from the components section they don't really have any particularly good AA. Their fastest firing 2x is 2.56 seconds which takes a huge 67 space, after that theyre roughly 4-6s reload times.

As for my supports, when I calculated the repair cap for my UK Crew, I settled on 3 Reps/7 Engis, they were all experted elites with some vets here and there. But UK Crewmen all get a +2 to repair for being UK, while RM and UK Repairers are the same in all other respects, the UK repairer still starts with an extra +2 for being UK and...

Actually, long story short. RM arent quite as good as UK at repairs, so I went for 4 instead of 3.

If you do use AA, class them like normal gunners. RM doesn't have dedicated AA gunners or an AA branch. Refer to the Game Info at the top for the Sailor Tree to see how they level and the Components to see what viable AA guns there are (Or in RMs case, there arent).

Gunners: If you're dead set on buying elite sailors as gunners, get elite repairs as gunners.
With bve any base gunner reaches the cap easily and fast. After you've reached the caps all that matters for gunners is how much they have to weigh and how much repair rate they give. Cheap and very good alternative is rolled gunners with 10 or more in repair.

Support: for repair cap you'll need 4 repairers, unless you vet heavily and have good repair stats on all sailors.
RM has no dedicated AA gunners, use regular gunners

Ah thank you so much gentlemen, the burden of decision has been lifted.

Unfortunate that the spread will suck no matter what, but interesting note all the same

I have both rm ebve acc and rlds.

get the acc gunners rm spreads are bad and the reloads arnt even noticably better but the acc is deff worse. i use them for hh.

this is my setup , crew is ebve about lvl 100-105

4 engy
3rep
1scout
2 acc gunners
2 rel gunners

if i changed my crew i would add a engy and remove a rep.  i cant restore very high so i dont bother reping much.

a scout is a must at bb5 lvl and handy at bb4, id lvl your supports and buy a scout off trade tab its much cheaper then buying a ebve supports as you lvl.

rm has no aa it blows.  i really wish they did tho.
