  • best revenge Armour setup?

Hello,
I've been looking around the net for the best armour setup on a revenge (due to old NF boards no longer existing), but i haven't found much. I was wondering what would be the best setup? Some say all deck, some say all/most bulge (as bbs will shred the deck anyway).
Any pointers would be useful!
Thanks

for bb1, armoring will help survive against bb1 and bb2 and sometimes bb3, but against bb4 to 6 armor won't help you

so .2 belt and rest bulge is fine

I did 2.8 deck and 15 bulge.
wouldn't it be better to do deck because most ships in GB are going to be ranging me and hitting me from above. Like, if they dont broadside me do i really need belt?

the 0.2 belt is to reduce damage from torps and you should remove the deck armor as they do nothing for you except to slow you down

The point is, 2.8 deck won't protect you from anything. It's not worth having because all you've done is add
extra weight that could have gone towards bulge(or speed). The reason for the 0.2 belt is it reduces torpedo
damage along with Bulge. So for example, 0.2 belt and let's say 50 bulge would do more than 2.8 deck and
15 bulge ( Those are just sample numbers - after the .2 belt add bulge till you lose 1 knot).

2.8 deck won't bounce anything, just wait till you get pow,L1 and l2 and aw it to 10 - 11" of deck all you want but for bb1s, don't bother armoring it in gb

oh yeah forgot, old nf forum posts can still be view, just enter royal navy or any forum section you could see their view old data

You can't fit enough deck to bounce shells effectively so just put 0.2 belt and bulge until you lose 1-2 knots

dontbother with armour

your best defence in that tub is your support crew get that sd as high as you can with reps and engies maybe 4 reps at such a low level. dont forget to put more supports in t slots.

its already dead slow so skip the armour

For GB, as mentioned. don't bother with anything else but 0.2 belt + bulge.

For Blitz (now that's it's only hobbit war) I'd recommend fitting as much bulge and as many torps as it can carry. It fact, if you have any premium HH from the recent events you can use those instead of main guns. torps + HH = win

The standard rule with armour is to totally max out on it or dont bother. rule of thumb used to be you need half of what kind of shell you were looking to bounce

for example to bounce a 16" shell it would mean 8" of deck MINIMUM.

Are you armouring up for blitz or GB?
if armouring for GB you could just not bother and bulge until the speed loss becomes unacceptable

.2 deck will help take some of the edge off bombs

.2 belt will reduce damage from torps

bulge again, more protection from torps

bulkheads will reduce the amount of speed you lose from heavier damage (RE: instead of losing speed at 60% damage, you might not lose speed until you're 30-50% damage, depending on the amount used).

just remember not to armour up too much that you're a sloth on water out there and an easy target. from bombers, subs, as well as other bbs
