  • About to reach KGV, realizing many flaws in my sailors - looking for advice overall.

Heyo, just picked the game up again after taking years break.

I started way back when, when I was probably 13-15. As such, what I'm running with now, is not ideal and I'm looking for advice on what I should do.
Firstly: this is my entire list of sailors:
1  Level 72 Elite Potential BO - County line, just got King George V
2 Level 71 Elite Accuracy Gunners, Classed as Huge Acc. Gunners. One of the two is boosted via this christmas event. None of my other sailors are.
4 Level 67-68 Elite Repairers classed as repairers
3 Level 67-69 Elite Engineers classed as Engineers
1 Scout pilot, level 68.

Thats it. I don't have enough support crew for laters BBs. I never did a second BO line to have non-at-level crew, etc.

So now I've been reading more and more, and realizing I've made a mistake. I was wondering for advice on how I can best turn this around, especially with the exp bonus for  Christmas.

You are not in too bad a shape. For L1, you only need 2 more sailors, and 3 more for L2 and QV. If you have enough credits/olives, you can always buy those extra sailors. As for the gunners, most people would say get reload gunners, but I use acc gunners myself (currently running L2) and I am happy with the way they perform. The elite BO is a bit of a waste, but oh well.

If you're going all the way to BB6 UK, you will need:

One BO, 2 gunners, one scout pilot and ten supports (eng and rep)

7 Engineers
3 Repairers

or

8 Engineers
2 Elite (Boosted) Repairers

The engineers will help you get more engine OverHeat time (which has no cap), and the two or three high leveled repairers can still reach the repair cap. More engineers, less repairers!

You might also want to get a new pair of gunners and class them like this:

Elite Accuracy Gunners > stay at lvl22 Gunner > at lvl 65 class to Reload-Reload. Delaying classing like this will not kill your Accuracy that early (if you class to Reload on time, it kills off your Accuracy stat growth which is what you'd like to avoid). And by choosing to class Reload, you will reach the cap of Reloading at an earlier level. You'll also want to Boost them and get them to at least 140 Veterans and max Experts.

Just play more during this Winter Event to get those Sailor Boosts (my personal record is twelve Boosts playing at Blitz rooms, just stay for five minutes and you'll get drops even if you lose the batttle)

@stuppoZero Engineers dont stack ability past 7 so haveing an 8th engineer is worthless.

Indeed, but another ENG does add to OH time....each and everyone does.

Fair enough on the 8th engineer, I personaly think that you can have all the speed/ OH time you want ,but at some piont you will get hit and when it does if it cripples you, and you cant rep your screwed so I always prefer to have a more balanced set up for each of the bbs or as balanced as it allows.
