  • NF Startup CTD

Starting a new thread about my issues with NF. At this point, I cant reach the logos or login screen. HS and NF update correctly, no errors there. It's  just when HS reaches 100%, I get a black screen and a CTD a few seconds later, saying, "NF has encountered a problem..."

Any help on this matter?

Specs:
Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit
Nvidia 9600GT 1GB
4GB RAM


PS. All NF related programs are clean install.

in the game folder there is a subfolder called Hshield and within is a file called "AhnRpt" if you would run
thatand past the results of the main screen only here, second do you have Steam running when you are
playing NF or do you play Punkbuster protected games?

Okay, will post that in a bit. As for PB and Steam, I have Steam running, I will try to disable that. For PB, I don't have that installed anymore.

As goes for PB it cannot be uninstalled 100% unless you have been on there website and DL'ed the removel tool. It will run in the background allmost undetectable. You'll have a good chances finding it and disable it in the ControlPanel -> Administration -> System Configuration and/or Services.

Okay, thanks for the tip DKpimp. I was able to completely unisnstall PB. I will be trying to run NF now.

Just to verify bring up task manager and go to processes and see if Punkbuster A or B are running?

Also you may have to repdate the HS files since we cant be sure if they did get updated

I can verify that they are not running. As for HS, I will update again.

Updated the HS files, still no luck. Been trying a clean install several times to no avail.
