TeamNF_MK2

Hey guys,

I believe I now have sufficient concrete details in order to inform you of our company's upcoming plans regarding Kaiser server.

It doesn't take much to see that Kaiser server has been lagging behind Nebraska server in overall activity.  I know that some of you may not be inclined to believe me when I say it, but we have been constantly monitoring the conditions of both servers for some time; TeamNF moderators have been voicing the community's concerns, and we have been holding serious discussions internally about ways in which to improve gameplay enjoyment on Kaiser server. Since the lack of activity is a detriment to fully enjoying NF, we all agree that something pretty drastic must be done to fix this. Something like creating a very active single server community.

I've disclosed in the past the hurdles that we would need to get around in order to consider a server merge. The main issue stems from a technical server cap limitation. We have been afraid that by combining servers there may be instances in which some players may be unable to join during peak hours of activity and during event times or holidays.  Other hurdles include general account logistics and developing an efficient method to complete the merge.

Keeping in mind the unsatisfactory conditions on Kaiser server, our team has been working behind the scenes on overcoming the hurdles and planning a server merge to be completed as soon as possible.  Our devs have been aware of these plans but have some work to complete regarding a current project before the merge can be initiated. We are aiming to have the merge completed prior to any Winter event which would mean late November or earlier if possible.

I really hope our players are understanding and supportive of this step as it is not an easy task to complete. I have to also stress that we may still run into some issues regarding those aforementioned hurdles but we will do our best to try and manage and mitigate before-hand, which may include actions such as no-notice disconnects, afk trade and fleet room removals, etc. as situations arise. Once the merger is complete we can then look forward to a an efficient environment for new content that everyone can gain maximum benefit and enjoyment from. Additional details will be added as they become available.

Thank you for your support,

-Randy

P.S. With regards to new content, please stay tuned for details on current and future projects. We are keeping our promise to continue supporting and improving NF for as long as fans enjoy playing.

% is not completely reliable but you should be able to maintain 50%.  I don't think there is an excuse for going below.

For the majority of cases with people playing the game, you can tell a good player from an average player from a poor player via winrate.

But you can't tell the difference between two good players, or two poor players, or two average players.

The people who don't think win rate means anything are generally the players who think they are much better than they really are.

Exception to the known DCer's. Where is ledan when I need him?

Commonly high win rate players have shown that they actually know how to play the game effectively and can be counted on to win the game for the team. Don't believe me? Just look at the attacks at the end of a game. Usually the majority of the team's attack is split between 3 maybe 4 players total. Out of teams of 15-20 per side no less.

Now, how about my account merge..

after the server merge what will happen to the fleets?
will there be a total reset again?
and if not what will happen to the Harbours?

Here is what I have found out so far.  The merge will be very high tech.  It will be on the cutting edge, and the merge will exceed your wildest expectations.

Looking forward to this. GMs couldn't hold out on us forever eh? Something I read but didn't see expanded upon (so many pages already) was the idea of merging accounts. This is mostly because of sailor cap. Would it be possible to raise the sailors-per-account cap? Many accounts exist only for storage, though I know many must have premium (and would therefore be bad for NF to close them by force) but I was wondering if the number of premium accounts active would be worth the spare room for the server? Also having a higher sailor cap in general would make people happy. Offer people a choice to close an old account in order to give more space on their main account? (most notably off-ship or not) Turned into a ramble, but I'm excited to shoot some new older players :p and want the merge to go smoothly as possible. Thank you Randy, appreciated.
