Shimakaze!

Ok have you try this because I end up tons picture, in Japanese Google type イ400, In the real IJN back then Pronunciation (I-400) is  ie400 = イ400, also try this in Japanese Yahoo and other search web engine site that have Japanese start up pages.

image google search  http://www.google.co.jp/search?hl=ja&q=%E3%82%A4400&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&biw=1024&bih=610&wrapid=tlif134844110055711&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=_JNfULjZBeTdigLnt4HIAw

Web sites  http://www.google.co.jp/search?hl=ja&q=%E3%82%A4400&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&biw=1024&bih=610&wrapid=tlif134844110055711&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=iw&ei=J5RfUPCoAe75igLezIDoAg

Here is a good site with the I-400 & I-401

http://blog.livedoor.jp/superknight2007/archives/51716145.html

You can zoom up on the front and back pictures.

Also try the search with this, I did not know it was also spelled like this ( 伊-400 )

Or you can buy this and get a real good look, if you have paypal I can purchase this for you and you can send me the shipping cost and item with your address and I can send it to you.

This site also has some good zoom ups, http://item.rakuten.co.jp/sakura-chan/sensuikubo/

FuriCuri

It took (around)  eleven torpedoes and 6 bombs to sink the Yamato and (around) 17 bombs and 19 torpedoes to sink the Musashi.
Btw wasent the Shimakaze a super destroyer?
(I had to do a 75 page report on the pacific theater of war)

Hey I just saw this thread - I'm going to be in Japan in 3 weeks!  I was thinking about stopping in Kure (going to Hiroshima for two days for the anniversary), but I didn't know what to look for.  From my limited research, it seemed as though there wasn't much WWII stuff to check out in Japan.  This museum is definitely something I want to look into since I'm starting my trip at Pearl Harbor.  It looks like everything is in Japanese only though.  I'm on the museum's site now but I can't tell - do they have anything in English?  Any audioguides?

I can't seem to figure out how to PM you/contact you directly, so hopefully you'll see this in time.  I'm a newbie, so if anyone can help me get in contact with Boku4u, please let me know!
