No there is not. But that's not a good reason to fit torps on poor Yamato.

There is no rule to start swimming when you're in the water up to your neck. But it surely is the best thing to do usually. ;)

While IJN is the only nation that has long range torps (unlike RN) their torps can be used on BBs... to some extent.

The only problems with using torps on IJN BBs are:

No reloads - One shot and they are GONE for the rest of the game.
No AA - Because you loaded torp launchers instead.

Also when not IJN one more problem rises.

NO EFFING RANGE


The only BB that can use torps without suffering those fallbacks is CV ISE as It can carry reloads instead of bomber ammo and can have fighters to do it's AAing (and scouting).

- People use AA, some AAers shoot down friendly planes = CVs bitch.

- People get bored of being whined at so don't use AA = CVs and other BB players complain about people not utilizing T slots.

- People use other potential setups such as torpedoes, Hedgehogs (used Hedgehogs on my L2 and QV) = people complain / mock.

Rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat. Good to see people still complain about everything here that isn't ''normal''.

I'm sorry, but torps on that high a level BB is fail to me. You want ASW? Carry HH. Less chance of accidental TK since they hit a spot and stop. Torps miss, they keep going. and for IJN they could keep going for AWHILE. You can't maintian your range and use torps unless you just want to hit DD's and lower on fictory rushes. Not a practical setup.

Well apparently according to old posts (that were mainly on the old forums, not seen many on here) people like the diversity and high level of customization in NF based on ship setups, crew complements, ammo types etc.

If this setup was such a bad idea the ability to mount torpedoes on battleships would've been removed years ago when people were mocking/complaining about these setups back then. Some people like to use this setup and if you base a loss on one ship using torpedoes then your 1) Passing on the blame for the teams failure to one ship, and 2) Passing on the blame from your failure.

If someone was using this setup in your fleet during HA or FL then whine away, but I didn't realize in public games people have to stick to 'what the norm is'

Given the yammy's slow speed at-level sticking on nothing is probably a more viable setup than torps. Obviously it would be better to have HH's or AA though.


Also there is nothing wrong with blaming a loss on one person. Just look up goalie fails (soccer/football) on youtube for example. Or in a more valid context, LLEEEEEERRRRRROOOOOOOOOOYYYYYY (jenkins).

Clearly the spread on those torps is too tight.
Use Gradual fire mode and spread em out a bit.
