  • Subscriptions are overrated

No subscriptions were used in the making of this BB2. A big thanks to Will, who was my
inspiration to get a Colorado back when I was still in my Brooklyn.

My first impressions are, OMFG THIS THING IS SO FREAKING SLOW! They say that you don't
know how precious something is until you lose it, and it really shows. The Guam really is
one of the best BB1s in the game when played properly, since it has speed and AA, while
the Colorado has neither of those (for now, at least). Another thing that I always took
for granted was having 5 scouts at all times in my Guam, which seems like a huge boon now
that I have only 3 in the Colorado. I feel a lot more vulnerable in this thing than ever,
since I can't shoot down scouts, I can't run from the enemy when I need to, and I'm blind
when I lose my scouts.

On the other hand though, the dual 16"s are PURE FREAKING OWNAGE! Not only do I have more
range than my Guam (I can only mark half of my shells so far), but the spread is somewhat
better, and each shell does MASSIVE damage. I managed 37k in the first game I took the
Colorado for a spin, with 12 salvos and a 13% hit rate.

In summary, there are lots of things about the Colorado that really show you just how
awesome the Guam was, but the Colorado is no stick in the mud and can be really awesome.

I myself am aiming for a Colorado. I'm only 10 levels away now and my gold account
runs out in 2 days :).

The one thing I dont like it, as previously stated, is the huge lack of speed and aa.. I
tried mounting aa, and that was insanely heavy. I sometimes made mistakes rushing
in, and then seeing 4 scouts popping up and being able to do nothing.. that is
horrible.

A big problem is still the spread, hard to land shells, still sort of praying they hit the
enemy.

Although, overall, it's an amazing ship.

Not a bad ship right now with decent crew. Might not have the same farming
potential as of now as penn or tenn, but still able to do decent attack in BB1-2

btw I was waiting for this, congrats :P

Oh trust me, it will definitely be worth it. Even right now without the OpenNF patch, the
Colorado is a damn nice ship, but after the patch, even I'm going to start worrying that
we might have overbuffed it... ;)

I'm doing the same grind. My BO is 3 lvls from Colorado, but my gunners are already at 70,
so I've been playing the Guam with the 16Ds and damn the damage output is nice! Still
though, on a free account the grind from Alaska to Colorado has been tough...I hope the 5
extra lvls from NM to Colo are worth it (*nudge* *nudge* *wink* *wink* How bout some
spoilers eh LK?).

After taking it out for a few spins, I've fallen in love with gradual fire. It doesn't
seem to have much of a better effect than regular salvo fire, but it's more satisfying
watching the shells land one after the other, plus it seems to scare the crap out of the
other guy too. I still lack range compared to PBBs, but when I do get in range...
