I sent in a support ticket about this a few weeks ago and gruven told me that
medics only work in a support slot and only repair, restore, and seamen work in T/R
slots. "

Lots of ways to do it. One way is 4 FPs and 3 DBs. Start with 5 & 4 fighters on FP1
and 2. Then, pump out DBs 3,3,3 and then load 5&4 fighters on FP 3 & 4 then either
FP or more DBs as needed. You can keep constant FP scouting while doing some
bombing. The downside is that you can get stuck with a full minute of no planes if
your FPs get owned.

I have 8 fighter pilots and 3 DB pilots to allow a lot of flexibility in the future.

Medic and seaman are helpful in T slots.

Well for my Essex setup: i got 4 FP and 3 DB..... i send 3 squardons of 3 fp each.......
then send my 4th fp up while the first 3 come back to refuel and re-arm, if the sky is
somewhat clear, i send my 3 DB squardons each with 3 DB planes..... thats pretty much how
i roll........ its been pretty good since i do about 70k attack and 5-7k creds in each battle

I usually run 5 FP and 2 DBs(In the market for some TBs) a medic and a seaman. I
don't get humped very often so I only run an ASW escort

With seven support slots, I would personally do 4FP-1TB-2DB the DB being your main attack
force and the TB just to eliminate any extra subs.

Or you can do a more FW role with 6 FP and 1 TB for subs. Or you can go 7 FP, but I don't
like having an odd number of FP.

I'm set for anything with 3 FP, 2 Db, 2Tb, I launch the 3 fighters and ready one 6
plane bomb group then as a fighter is shot down ready a 4 plane relacement. this
keeps as many fighter as I can up and allow at least 2-3 bombing missions a game.
Some say they do not see FC too bad it is launched 6-9 times a game, if shot down
it takes time to ready but is first priority. Divebombers 2nd, torps anti-sub if time
allows. Deck guns used single 7" ok for cv room and trashs subs and little ships that
try to torp you. got to Lexington using this set-up. Never used locals at any time just
normal fighters more range.

I always keep one TB for those small ships or subs that are almost impossible to hit
with DBs. If I see one getting close I can usually get a squad up fairly quickly and
sink them with one salvo.

First off don't go to the Essex until you have T3 fighters.

My Essex is currently setup with 3FP, 2 DB, 1 TB & a Medic
Also have an additional FP & DB that get mixed in.

Plane Load:

6 TBs (Good for AA ships)
20ish DBs
Fill then rest with Fts

Launch 4FT/4FT first
then 4FT/5DB

After that just try and match what is needed usually more fighters with a few DBs
mixed in. If threre is an AA ship killing my planes I will launch the TBs to sink it.

Will also run with the 5"38 guns for token AA and Hump-resistance.

I'll personnally go 6 ft 2 tb for my CV5 (that I'll eventually level -.-)

loading 3/3/4 ft quick for FW or being able to switch the 4 ft for 4 tb give great
versatility.
