Could you trying using your points to make sailors to sell once you have 50k/50k ?

If you are a lower level one good way to make credits is too join "All Welcome" games and make sure you stay the whole game even if you die. You'll end up with around 1k in bonus creds (if your team wins) plus any creds you earned yourself in the game.
