If you're spamming, you're not aiming.

Spam is not AA, it's decoration. Bells and whistles. It's what you do with a gun that has
lamentable shell damage.

the oversized 5.25" are good, and are generally whats used.

however, if you have good gunners that can spam, use the boxy looking 5.25's,
because they give more damage. (the guns that have a blue-ish hue in battle)

pompoms is a diffrent story...

Still no one has mentioned my personal favorite: the 5.25" QF L.

It's lighter than the RP10 variant, and is slightly more powerful. Sure, it might have 20%
longer reload, but UK players are used to dealing with long reloads anyway.

Plus, you will hardly lose any speed if you only equip 2 per side. Any good AA user, using
guns with good spread, only needs 4 shells per side when aiming at a single plane. 4-5 per
side just gives you a bit larger margin for error, and only slightly improves your coverage.

The other perk is that if you only use AA on half your T slots, you can use hedgehogs on
the other half.

Overkill much?

pompom angles are ... well varied - i found 46 degrees to be the most effective at killing
planes default height. About 30ish mid altitude, 17 for low and 60ish++ right aboive you.

Pom pom are only great with CA and below ships where they can pick out high level fighters
who go around the capital ships while AA immune.

Otherwise in BBs, they are difficult to use cause you need a more damaging AA to spend
less time on AA. However, I couldn't say the same for RN BB1s though.

Once you hit PoW, Hood, Lion, Vanny, L2; Those ships are easier to fit with pompoms,
and make more sense.

But the BB1/2s all have great slot design and big enough T slots to use RP10s.

Personally, I think a L1, Hood, Vanny, L2, benifit more from Hedgehogs to be honest.

With a golden angle of 42, the pompoms are now great for clearing the skies over
your own ship. But if you want to guard OTHER ships as an AA boat or you want to
hit scouts at range, the RP10 guns are still a better choice. IMO, of course.
