  • Seeking advice on starting a first cv crew

So i am starting a new cv crew--as in just rolled and am startign to level them to
national level. Yes I have read many of the forums talking about CV crew but
wanted to get an up to date (post all the patches) UK perspective.

So far I have:

3 Fighters and 6 Bombers (I beleive all are 11/10 in bomber/fighter respectivly)
Eventually I expect to class 5 as torps and 1 as dbs--am I right on this or should it
be 2 dbs and 4 torps?

Second: should I create a Medic and Seaman? I have a pot 13--10/10/10
AAW/Repair/Restore and a pot 15 9/9/9 seamna--should I class them as
seaman/medic to use at highlevels? Do medics contribute to AAW/Repari/Restore?

There seems to still be a fair bit of disagreement on the effectiveness of Medics and
Seaman.

Third I also have a pot 14 10/10/9 (AAw/repair/restore) crew that I was going to an
operator for the york--hood line (my second BB operator. who would be better as a
BC Bridge Op--15/9/9/9 or 14/10/10/9?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

for the ftrs is is important to keep their bomber ability as high as you can. this will
cost you some ftr ability in the beginning but will pay out later. but also at earlyer
stages the less higher ftr ability will be compansated by the higher bomber ability
cuz it can take more hits.

I would recommend keeping/rotating the 4 bombers, mostly for the flexibility (GB, CV
rooms, HA, etc).

When you get the Illustrious (and higher) you can put unused bombers on the R slots to get XP.

stick with ships closer to the lvl of the PILOTS.
Nothing worse than seeing say, an Ark royal on your team, then realising it's fighters are
gettin eaten alive as it's using lvl 70 T2's...

So right now I am in the process of leveling the crew--5 fighters, 4 bombers (around
level 32) and a medic and seaman (lvl 20).

Looking at the prospect of leveling the aircrew--shoudl i keep the 4th bomber or just
run with 3?

Also when i get to the point I can use a carrier, I understand that higher level
carriers are always better than the lower ones--but to level pilots should I matcht eh
ship to the pilots levels (stayign smaller longer) or match the BO levles, and have
the ships outstrip the pilots wait for them to eventually level up?

4+ fighters and all bombers as tbs. Oh and you can only have 8 pilots on cv6 :\

Class them when they reach the available 'rank' as soon as is possible.
with regards to not classing them to get a larger crew size, thats great if you can
super-vet them to take advantage of this and keep it up (which will require ever
increasing amounts of real $'s).

If you don't wish to, or can't afford to, then it's easier to just class them on time to
take advantage of the improved ability you get as a result of the class-change (for me, i
have multiple CV crews with a large number of fighters -21 currently, spread over 3
nations, there's no WAY I'm going to even contemplate super-vetting all of them, when 100
vets do quite nicely against most CV's on AZ).

You should probobly avoid doing that. You lose skill doing that and I'm pretty sure crew
size. All the translates into less true ability which will definatley hurt you early on.

fraggz thanks for teh comment--but that wasn't the question:

leveling my pilots TO Fighter/bomber--can I skip the Rookie class and just leave them
special forces?
