Don't put the 8".
The 15" on Revenge will do good against most ships in Blitz. And by using the 15", you'll
get a good experience how to play BB properly.

I think, with the 8" duals on a County at 55 degrees and bad spread, I've ranged a
few Blitzkrieg BBs. It could just be that they didn't see or target me, but I definitely
was hitting them at maximum range with a few shells per volley, without getting hit
back. The County has amazing range.

The range on 8" duals are nice, as is the damage when the shells hit at HA angles. The
only downsides are that the accuracy for the duals can just be a headache, and it is
significantly harder to hit a speedy DD.

On a side note, if/when you get your POW, it will play/feel very much like a
front-guns-only Revenge (armored/speedwhored). So if you can do well with 8" Revenge,
then it will be easier to familiarize yourself with POW. Especially, if you can do well
with 8" Revenge against ships that range you, then you will certainly be able to get in
the groove easier as a POW faced off with BB4-5s.

Of all the UK BBs, in terms of fun and leveling, POW probably ranks 3rd on fun (QV > L2 >
POW > L1/Vanguard) and second on leveling because it can get quite the XP bonus for
hitting BB4-6 (L2 > POW > L1/Vanguard), and crews don't really need to level much if at
all once they are BB6-worthy.

Hey now, the County 8"s actually have pretty good range with High Angle. I almost got
outranged by one in my Alaska once, many years ago...

Yes, use 8" guns on your revenge in blitz. While you are at it, completely armor it. Just
dont be shocked when you run into someone who knows what they are doing and sinks you from
far outside your range.

The 8" trips on BB would only work in Blitz. All GB games require BBs to carry guns 11"
or larger.

In most cases, 8" trips on Revenge will do wonders in Blitz. Most people are not focused
on using range or running. And given the number of DDs and such, it could simply be that
no one cares enough to bother using range.

The advantages of using 8" in Blitz is that, if you do block--usually +12 BVE gunners, RLD
or ACC, will be able to block with BB FCS--you will be able to dish out quite a bit of
damage accurately and slightly faster than the BB guns. It also tends to scare other
ships away.

The disadvantage is if someone is smart, they will be able to range you, and use that
effectively against you.

When I was still in Blitz, I used the 8" trips on my Revenge and speedwhored it. Going at
42 knots, I was able to catch most BB1s rather easily. The key is to either bait them,
wait for them to make a mistake or get distracted, or to sneak up on them. If you know
your angles well, you'll be able to hit all 12 shells on the BB1 at your max range (which
is what you should be doing to every ship as often as you can), and then get in closer to
him and keep firing away, giving him little chance of surviving even if he runs. The
biggest challenge arises when you face off against Moltke or torps, or the slim
possibility of a skilled Pensacola player. The downside to using speedwhore Revenge is
that you won't be packing much buldge or any other sort of armor, so you can't tank. And
even if you are a speedwhore, Moltkes will still most likely outrun you and outrange you
at the same time. Simply put, Moltke is just an imbalanced ship. You must treat it as
your biggest threat and fight it with as cautiously as possible.

The alternative to SW Revenge with 8" is armorwhoring it. Since I've never been an
armorwhore beyond County, I can't suggest what setup is best. This you'll have to figure
out from others or from your own experience and play style.

Good luck.

I would also add that you have secondary guns. The small cal guns can be loaded with HE
ammo as backup to swat away DDs.

It only works in Blitz, and even then a smart driver in another BB or PCA will rape
you silly.

Ignore the temptation. You'll be better off if you put the proper guns on your
Revenge and learn how to play it as it's supposed to be played.

If you're going to use a BB, use BB guns.

Even with bad spread, UK 15" shells in Blitz or GB hurt a lot. It's also best to get used
to BB play and using your range more and more.

CA guns on a BB is not a good idea. One example from Blitzkrieg is not the most ringing of
endorsements.
