Ok, I used to fancy myself a pretty accurate DBer. Right after the last patch I've been
dropping bombs (on my screen) through ship hulls and having them splash harmlessly into
the water. Has anyone else noticed a change in their DB timing?

Yes, but the caveat is

1. You need to break through the bulge first
2. You need to get your TBs to your target unhindered (AA, fighters, etc.)
3. Your target needs to be dumb enough to completely ignore the TBs while his bulge is all
gone

Granted that you can accomplish all that fairly easily nowadays, but from what I've seen
dive bombers have their uses too; especially if you use them to support your team's BBs
and conduct simultaneous attacks on an enemy BB that's being engaged.

I hate when people say "I got XXX attack so my way is better!" But I kinda have to do
that here...

a few days ago an amagi was pwning my team who had no BB6. I was running 6 fighters and 2
TB's on a PCV. I sent up full fighters and had them all over the BB6 then sent up 11 TB's
in a tight group. Came in from behind him and landed all 11 in his mid. I picked up about
10k attack. as the torps hit it went something like 1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1, 3k, 6k. This told
me I had his bulge gone.

The next 11 TB's destroyed him as he was chasing our BB... fully repaired by this time and
undamaged by our BB's.

You just can't do that with DB's. By the time you get another flight of DB's up he'd have
repaired back to the original point. With TB's once you are through their bulge, its game
over... no matter what ship you're in.

That's actually a known bug that usually happens when you try to DB a BB's superstructure
from certain angles (espeically if you are manual DBing), but I doubt SDE will bother to
fix it, since it's very rare to encouter as long as you stick with auto-DBing.

As for TBs, they can be extremely deadly when used in synch by two CVs to form a 90
degree scissoring torping pattern with the target ship sandwiched in the middle. I've
seen that TBing tactic being done a lot in the NFCHN league, perfect for killing those
annoying AA-whore Z99s that OH at 61 knots.

Plus, UK TB's camo makes them quite hard to spot, one more reason to go for TB as UK.

So true, b4 subs no one used bulge, after subs... i know ppl with 255 =/

If u ask me, TB is more fun and more exp in GBs, for league matches or HA where u DO need to sink a ship, DBs r better

You can thank subs for that. A lot of BBs out there carry 255 bulge nowadays so that
they don't get raped by subs.

I find that it's near impossible to sink a non AW BB with just 2 squadrons of TBs.
First squadron hits bulge. Second squadron hits more bulge. Third squadron doesn't
even come because
1. Fighters
2. AA
3. CV's dead
PLus, it's actually quite easy to dodge most torps, and most BBs don't have many
other ships around them anyways.

launch ealy sometimes but i normally get a hit on another ship so i like tbs more
than dbs

p.s this is just my personal opinion so don't get mad at me if u dissagre

just posting from my point of view guys. I never have much trouble dodging DB's. A good
player with TB's on the other hand...

Oh, and try killing a decent BB with DB's. It would take loads of squadrons time after
time. With my KM TB's I find 2 full squads will sink any BB5 in the room. 1 squad takes
away the bulge, the next sinks the ship.

And yes, if you pay attention, you can aim so that if the ship turns and some torps miss,
you hit other ships. I assure you, luck plays a very small part in this aspect.

Also, you have to keep in mind the tactical advantages of TBs such as being able to turn a
runner BB into your own BB's range. Again, I just think TB's are far more versatile.
