  • Crew Advice--to boost or not--post 9.23.09 patch

So I read that the ability caps for variosu sailors went up so that leaves me with
three questions:

1a) Is it worth Boosting gunners now--I have 2 sets of 11/11 gunners (both
reload), 1 set at 42 and one at 50--I hadn't planned on boostign them since I
understood they hit both caps @level 75. Is it worth boostign gunners now?

1b) Is it worth keepign 2 sets of gunners--I have one BO in County and one in York
(well almost). Right Now I am Keepign 2 sets so that I can stay in blitz longer. Once
thye both hit 60 is it worth keepign 2 or is it better to sell one set and just use the
same gunners for both lines. I also have 2 sets of AA gunners--one classed on time
and the other I am leaving on Armarment until they hit lvl 48.

2) Is it worth B/V/E BOs on battleships? I am ghosting the BOs on my Sub and
Carrier--only 13 levels to go!!!

Thansk for the input.

"Yes. If I remember correctly another benefit of boosted gunners is the reload cap is
better. "

No. Just no.

Yes. If I remember correctly another benefit of boosted gunners is the reload cap is
better.

If you're not planning on using the pompoms (even after the patch, the normal RP10s would
be my choice), you might as well stop leveling those sailors. RLD gunners make excellent
AA gunners.

A second crew of the same nation is not really necessary. Escorts are dumb and you can use
the same crew on different ships during HA anyway.

For BB, you want to Boost and Vet your BO, because playing with short guidelines is a
major disadvantage. However, you don't need to bring the Vets up to 100. Just roll some
and put some experts on and you'll be fine once you reach BB4.

1) Both of the Reload Gunners are main gunners--I am working on AA gunners
(Armarment Sailors) right now.

2) Is there any reason to keep a complete second BB Crew? I was thinking if I ever
join a fleet and do a Harbor assault or something like that, as well as beign able to
run an escort.

3) All of teh Gunners have 100 Vets and around 95 Rookies, the rest experts) with
full crews.

4) My ghosted BO are for those tracks, I have 4 total, one on each UK track (well
almost the Carrier Op is only level 35). I am Ghosting the BO for my Sub and
planning on Ghosting the BO for the Carrier.

Unless you plan on keeping another set for AA, sell 1 of your pairs of gunners. You want
your main pair to get as many levels as possible as quickly as possible. Boosting is
useful, but I would vet them first. 0 -> 100 vets seems more effective than 1 boost, but
if you have the money to do both, then do it.

I'm not sure what you're referring to with the ghosted BOs on your sub and CV. Are you
implying that they're your BB BOs? Generally, I think it is worth it to boost them as it
makes the 60s-90s substantially easier. It's much easier to aim when your guidelines are
near or at your max range.

The last two levels still yield you some noticable improvement concerning the spread with
certain guns. So once the RLD gunners hit 120, they should perform exactly the same, or,
depending on the vets and reload/or base stats of the ACC gunner, reload faster.

As for the OPs question: Yes, boost your gunners. They will reach the caps faster and you
will have more fun that way. If one pair is just for AA purposes, you won't need to boost
that one.

Before the cap changes, my 120 Acc's had the exact same spread as Sparky1978's 120 reloads
(same base stats).

No idea about after the cap changes, however, I do know that if you have acc gunners, you
need to boost them to hit the reload cap.

there has to be more to it than just caps. Ex.

I have two sets of UK gunners

#1 = acc gunners 12 base in acc lvl 120 BVE.
#2 = Rld gunners 11 base in rld lvl 118 BVE

The acc gunners are Noticeably (very different) more accurate with BB guns although they
should both have reached the acc cap long ago.
