  • With new rules in place, how do you class DP gunners?

I read up some stickies in this sub-forum and I noticed most of them recommended to
class them as DP gunners as late as possible(meaning keeping them as armenant
sailors all the way till you reach DP gunner level). However, with the recent rule to avoid
normal sailors to gain any more exp from lvl25, will the method work ? Also, if no what is
a better solution to class them properly; considering I cannot afford boosts. I also
realized the stickies mention a growth stats of 11/11 as proper. 11/11 as in 11 acc 11
reload or 11 reload 11aaw? Thanks in advance(pls don't flame me >.<'').

Please do neither.

When your gunners hit lvl 12 class them as IJN Armourment only. From then on, do not class
until you are ready to use (normally Yammy level, but maybe @ 65 for B65) I am happy with
my DP gunner performance at level 93 having classed them at 66.

By doing this they get a reload advantage and an XP gain boost per game over fully classed
gunners.

9 or 10 accuracy is good enough for DP gunners as they still hit the new Acc cap and IJN
AA is quite accurate anyways.

My RN gunners are level 89 and have been levelled the same way as RN has the same problem
as IJN, but IJN has overall better AA guns. They DO still get XP even though not classed
as more than armourment, in fact 20% more than my gunners get.

Sara,

If you have a 12 reload dp gunner versus an 11 (which you BVE and level no sooner
than level 62) then you will hit the (new) reload cap at level 102 instead of level 106.

9 Accuracy is really horrible though although a lot of people think it is not important, it is
somewhat important.

Hope this helps.

which I did earlier. Wanted to clarify some details only ^^"".

Anyways, i recently abled to roll out a pair 9/12nuets. Should I straight away used them
as DP gunners or I wait for 11/11 nuets?

Sara, please see Longrooster's stickied post on proper classing of DP gunners in the IJN
forum.

Reload acc for the most part, though reload itself is good enough specially if you
can't aim. As for the new changes, the new changes (and any further cap increase)
will only make classing your DP as late as possible more important. That is unless
they somehow fix AAW, but then it'd depend on how they fix it and what it'll affect.

aaw is not an activated ability.
That should answer your question indirectly.

oh I see, thanks ^^

Btw 11/11 DP gunners really mean 11accuracy and 11 reload? Thanks

Classing them as basic arms sailors (after classing them as IJN sailors) means they
will get exp after level 25. You want them as arms sailors anyway as they will gain
that all important reload ability you need.

So it really didnt change anything with leveling DP gunners.
