  • T2 Fighters vs. Locals?

    10. 20. 2009 15:07

Did a quick search but couldn't find an answer.

Should I use the T2 fighter with mid 60's pilots (all +11 or 12, boosted) or stick with the
local fighters for my Yorktown?

Any help would be appreciated.

depends on opposition

know your fellow cv's and when faced with someone you know you cant beat with t2's no
matter what go with locals

else use t2's

also remember that 3 flights of 3 >> one flight of 9

My fighters are lvl 66, of course they are elite and boosted, and usually have no
problems downing locals.

Good idea ninjafroggie.

From my experience it can be very hard to play against locals.
If the locals player keeps constant squads in the air, I can큧 tun on the light for
longer time.

Beside that its just more fun to play with normal planes.

Every nation gets their t2 fighter plane at level 60 along with a promotion to ace
fighter pilot...I say they need to rework it so that, similar to the way fighter pilots
can no longer use scouts, ace fighter pilots can no longer use locals. I can
understand a cv1 or even 2 using locals, their FP are too low level to compete in
normal planes against anyone with even half a brain about using FP, but once youre
in a fleet carrier (cv3+), your job, like your ship, grows...you no longer need to worry
about just keeping that one bb5 safe, you need to worry about keeping an entire
flank safe, both from bombers and more importantly you need to protect scouts from
enemy FP, and locals are incapable of doing that even if you dont let them land.

There are still a good number of us around that know how to use a bb, and if we are
in a bb5, without a bb6 in the room, then those players will win you the game if they
can see. With locals, you're gauranteed to be mostly or totally blind all game, which
translates into a virtually gauranteed loss b/c autosplit counted you as a fleet cv and
balanced you against other fleet cvs that may actually be doing their job.

Somebody made a list once of all the jobs a cv needs to be able to do
simultaniously, all game long, and "bombing" in any form didnt show up until 6th
priority in the list (and it was made by a cv driver). Use normal FP, dont be a useless
noob.

past level 60, and you're too good for locals. the PCVs and CV345s carying locals are nubs.

my lvl 70-ish boosted but not vetted/experted KM ftrs eat locals of same or lower level.

I prefer locals to T1s because I like to be able to shoot something down. It's not like I'm
gonna be much help scouting either way.

"Use the LFTs, they have a tiny fuel time, so I can send a decoy attack wing of DBs in,
and wait until the LFTs return after 20sec and bring in the rest of the DBs... "

ya and a smart cv player would have loaded the second set of locals after lunching the
first set.. So the rest of your db's would be food...

The only time locals are good if starting out in cv in a gb room. In that case stick close
to flag and cover from bombers etc. At tir2-3 you should stop using locals.. Although i
laughed so hard tonight when a pcv was lunching locals at my fps and lost lol.....

How ever use the tir2 and mircromange them.. You will be shocked how many tir3 fps suck
when not mircromanged by the owner.. Also a lot of cv players bought higher lvl pilots
cause their to lazy to level some.. hint why you see cv sending out fps and forgetting
about them (those are the ones going around and around after fps/scouts for ever and a day)

a well handled t2 is going to do more for your team and your future cv skills then local
fighters. i find that i prefer a CV with T1 over local as at least the t1 can scout . i
have been given total air supremacy directly overhead by cv3/4 using locals , not one
bomber gets near me . only problem is the oppositition t1/2/3 fighters come in and scout
for long enough to get me killed. and i am blind the whole game .
