I guess nagato is a competent ship except AA.
Nagato is a harder ship for me to beat with when I use O pro -v- haha~

anyway, the ammo on nagato is limited when your team sucks or you are too cool,
besides, 2 salvos a BB5 on Fuso / Ise...this make nagato less attractive!

I just kicked ass and took names in the Fuso.

It was tons more fun to sneak up on unsuspecting bad BB5 players and light them up with
all those guns of glory.

Depending on how well you do in Fuso/Ise, I would consider just skipping Nagato, or
playing it sparingly.

With the boosted XP for hitting higher level ships, it is more beneficial to play Fuso/Ise
than Nagato. As long as you are aware of the enemies around you and don't get in range of
a BB5, then you can farm a lot easier in Fuso than in Nagato.

If you really want to play Nagato, then try to stay at max range when you're shooting.
Also try to fire at ships that are big targets. Don't bother with anything below a BB
class. Lack of ammo, bad spread, and only 8 barrels (the least turrets of all the IJN
BBs, just like Kongo, and thus, sucks just like Kongo) make Nagato a tough ship to use.
The damage isn't all that much better than Fuso either, especially if you use 16D Fuso.

Really shouldn't be using a Restorer in IJN gun line. My crew: lvl 89BO, level 70-80
engy/restorers are at 853 soft damage already (900 cap). That being said, my crew is
all BVE with 100+ vets each. But still, even without the boosts, IJN crew is going to hit
the SD cap around Yammy level.

Compare to B65, Nagato is superior unless you mount AA on the B65 and use it all the time.
Nagato have much better range and damage, and a much smaller hitbox. Stick with Nagato.

Nagato is a great ship except for the lack of AA. It's size and shape makes your opponent
think lightly of you and prioritize on the other BBs. Still, my full pilot crew with
Yamato gunners can beat a L2, Iowa and a South Dak at the same time and I average 90k
attack. Too much noob BB4/5 players in Arizona now a day.

I suggest you to keep your distance/slingshot when facing enemy BB4/5s. Keep your ship
positioned like / or \ all the time to utilize your four turrets. Remember, you are a BB3,
don't fight a BB4/BB5 with brute force. A little cheap shot here and there will net you
more attack than you trying to fight a BB4/5 head on and get sunk. If you know your angles
well, you shouldn't miss big targets like them, while they'll miss you like crazy (or at
least land less than a quarter of their salvo) since you have such a small hitbox. Two to
three good salvo from Nagato should sink anything you face.

Consider getting an escort AA ship also, at least until you have Yamato. I personally have
two pairs of AA gunners, one pair made just for my escort. It's more useful than a CV
sometimes, and can mean life or death. So many times I've conquered north by myself in my
Nagato with just my escort ship.

Leveling is hard without premium, and it's not called a "grind" for no reason. Just follow
the tips we give you, and keep at it. If all fails, you can always FICTORY it and leech
your way up.

The nagato is probably the second best bb3 range wise , its very fast and hit pretty
hard stop moaning

Here's what I did with my nagato:

-Put reps in the support slots
-4 engys
-1 rest
-1 scout
-2 reps
-2 gunners
-1 BO

all that gives me 900 SD

I can take a pounding from any ship in the game now, and best thing is, the 16" shells
nearly block on an opponent.

I rack up attack like crazy, and average maybe 20-30K per battle with victory.

I don't rush, however, I will take the front lines to get a couple shots off or even take
a couple shots for an injure friendly ship. This proves to work quite nicely. Often, the
enemy ship that shot me is blind when they do and they mistake me for an injured ship as
they continue to move in.

If any ship floats even at the very edge of your range and you dont know if you can hit
it, take that shot; you would be surprised at what that ship can do.

The only bad thing, in my opinion, about the nagato is the size of the ship. It is like a
floating beehive (hence my ship's name, ---Bumblebee---). Bombers and other ships can
easily hit something that big.

Use it to your advantage, let a couple enemy ships drift into your range to try and hit
your huge BB3 (preferably under 40 degrees) and then pound them. If they are under 40
degrees and need to turn around to escape your range, your reload can easily damage/kill
them before they can escape your range.

Trust me, Nagato is a really fun ship to play in. Try the different guns for it (the 82
and the 77 or 78 L's). Find a set you think works for you and then go from there. (this
usually burn about 100K when you experiment with these guns)

I actually use 3 binds of LHE, as I often run out of ammo in my nagato with 1 bind of
AP.

The Nagato grew on me as time wore on. I broke up the grind to Yammy with the Boomstick
Fuso and Nagato. The farther I got from 77, the more I used the Nagato, until near
exclusivity at 84-89.

The Nagato is quite forgiving on underlevelled, unboosted, or generally not quite up to
snuff Engys. The 42-knot speed is pretty quick by GB standards and pretty easy to obtain.

Nagato is frequently underestimated in a GB environment when compared to the distinctive
shapes (which basically scream shoot me first) of the BB4s-BB5s. The range is very, very solid
for a BB3.

The worst part of the Nagato is the shell broadside, which is comparatively weak at 8
shells. However, the reload is quite nice, and I found by the end that I didn't notice the
weak broadsides very much, as I adjusted to the guns and their much improved spread.

Nagato can also take quite a solid hit. Considering the Yammy has 1 more slot, and yet
needs to use 2 for AA gunners, my Nagato at least had superior soft defense and repair
capabilities (which seems to be lacking on IJN crews). It also has a quite a chunk of raw HP.

All these advantages lead to these related tips for improving your Nagato gameplay:

- Make sure you have a bind of AP and know when to use it. Lots of AWs around these days
- Use your range against BB3s and below
- Use your speed to deny battle in unfavourable circumstances (blind, outgunned)
- Use your range and speed to attack distracted, larger opponents
- Use your speed to dodge, zigzag, and weave in and out of enemy range
- Your 43 degree guns give you pretty impressive range against pursuers, use it
