  • Looking for some advice from those who've done both lines...

Ok...so here I am.. with 2 BOs..

1 is a repulse BO, lvl 66 who can spot his shells very well (loaded with experts and vets)

2 is a revenge BO, lvl 56 who can't even spot 8 inch shells atm (Has very little experts
and vets) Sadly I can't afford any vet/expert items to fill him up either.... and my AAing
since first lvl with him...really didn't add as many experts as I'd have hoped. (he is pot
15, and was never powerleveled)

Rest of my crew are mid 70s.

So... my issue is.. do I grind in the repulse for 15 more levels or do I grind in the
revenge till my BO can spot the shells?

What do those who've done both lines think would be most painless? I'm really not too sure
how the BB FCS will effect how my BO spots shells (has to make it better right?) but I
highly doubt he has a chance to spot the 15 inch shells for quite some time.. which will suck.

Maybe... since I leveled up my gunners/supports quite a bit since running a repulse, it
will be more enjoyable to play?

Any thoughts? thanks!

Well, I caved and bought a revenge. Turns out my BO can spot shells at 26 degrees, which
isn't that bad, and certainly workable.

what to do when you cant spot your shells, you can follow the advices above or you could
follow some tactical hints.

when you are at the spawn point before you moved and you put your guns to the north at max
angle ... try out at what angle you can spot your shells when you are standing. In GB do
this to have a marker where you shells will eventually land. Be aware that when you shot
from south to north you shot farther but are still able to see shells land, that you wont
(rangewise) when you are crusing.

With those markers you know a reference point from where you need to learn the guessing
where your shells will land. When your shells hit, you will spot them (blue circle). With
30 degree guns the difference between the end of your guidelines and the range where you
can see your shell land, is about 4 degrees.

Doing it that way isnt easy and you will need quite a lot of battles to get the experience
necessary for the guesswork. I did it on revenge to QE and also on the KM lines that way
(not using boost and/or bought vets/experts on the BOs).

Unfortunately I do not have the money to spend on this game at this time, so experts/vets
aren't going to happen.. unless they give some out in the xmas event.

I don't suppose there is some sort of calculation somewhere to tell how much potential is
needed to spot shells at certain ranges? Atm, this BO is about... 100 points lower than my
repulse BO which can spot shells. Perhaps, alot more work AAing can bring my experts up in
numbers...

Well if you DO through money at the problem, make sure to Vet and Expert him first.
Adding premium sailor to someone with few vets and experts doesn't do a lot until
he gets more vets and experts later on.

Do what Hero said, or buy some prem for you BO.

Agreeing slightly with hero. Don't waste a BB slot on your team. Use the County or a
Furious until you can properly see your shells marked.

But since you'll have to do both eventually, I would say, play your healthy Repulse to
your next ship before you go back to the other line. That's what I'm doing with my KM
lines, switch line every time I get a new ship. Since you can mark your shells, by
leveling more with the Repulse, by the time you can spot shells on your Revenge/QE, the
spread ought to be decent and spotting the shells will be a lot more fun for you.

And since your supports are already higher than both BOs, you might as well get working
repairs and engineers for when you POW.

I did not want to be a detriment to my team... so I aa'd in county up to about QE lvl when
I started properly spotting shell. Go the POW line first, its epically more fun than the
BC line.
