  • IJN YAMATO SUPPORT CONFIG.

well I see in game most people using a yamato with it's maximum speed of 38-40
knots. it is because of its armor and support troops. the best way to make a yamato
usefull is for me;
- at the AA slots you need 2 rep.s(why not AA? because emden, omaha and that kind
of ships do AA for credit in game and those are enough I think...)
-you need 6 engys. the more there are engys, the more you can go at maximum
speed.
- you need a chief seaman( so he can give your support sailors more effect)
- you need only 1 restorer(1 is enough)
-and the rest on the ground must be reps(yes you need 1 scout, but I ment the rest
of the empty places when there is a scout)

this part is for people who can really play with a yamato

you don't need to put any deck armor on it,55 bulge is enough. if you put deck on it
then you will reduce your speed.the faster you go,the more effect you can do on
enemy ships.

I would reccomend you to try this configuration. you will see it to that this config.
really works.

Have fun!..

@Saddlerocker: Obviously you wait until Amagi for AA since you don't class your DP
gunners until level 118 for optimal reload!
(sense of humor please)

yar you don't really need supports or experts to max out on sd or speed.

Well maybe some experts if you really want to run a ship with only 5 ngs. Now if
only there was a ship with only 2 guns and no AA, oh wait..

Almost 400 sd without any supports or experts ftw.
7 mgers is really all the support you need. Though course you might want a scout
for that sy, then possibly a seamon with the Amagi, cause everyone knows going 80
knts is overrated.

my ijn crew is

1 elite POT - BO - 116
2 elite Acc - gunners - 117
2 elite rel - dp - 114
5 elite engy - 113
3 elite rep - 114
1 scout - 115

on SY i run the 5/2 setup.
on yammy i did 4/2 i think. worked fine.

only thing i did was vet my reps up like made. ie 220 on 2 of them.

no aa on yammy/super yammy = epic fail even worst then the front gun AW;s

Why use AA on the Amagi if your not gonna use it on the yamato or SY?

My god its the best the IJN has going for it, and you dont wanna use it?
The Yamato got a speed buff, if you cant go 37 knots with AA you got bigger
problems.

id say dont run aa on your yammy unless you dont lose speed with them on...
but still lvl them for amagi, without aa you can focus more on getting attack
rather than tryin to shoot down the 20 scouts that are coming at you

What fail is this?

At level, you want AA, 4/3 or 3/3 engie/rep depending on the level fo your supports
(what ever hits speed cap)

Unless you know very well what you're doing, I suggest you have AA on.

Restores are useless one way or the other (unless you already have a lv 100+ res...)
If you look at this, I have 700SD, and 0 restores. (speed's pre BB34AA)

I did everything I could to get more speed>SD, to avoid shells is much more effective
then to repair them as IJN.

Seamen are worthless on BBs as far as I've found. (though on CVs, I normally run
one)

Hope that could provide some more food for thought.

You use AA on your Yamato, cause you can shoot down scouts before enemy BBs
see you.
4 Engis is recommended too.
