Can york line use Fighter Pilots?

I have a rookie pilot on my york and I use it only for scouting. I was just wondering if i
could promote it into a fighter pilot? and can it be used for the upcoming ships? or
should I leave it as rookie?
Just need some help.. Thnx!!!

You can't use fighter pilots on any battleship.
