Historically, doesn't matter jack squat. I could point out how the IJN submarine force
didn't manage to sink barely anything, whereas the USN's submarine force, despite inferior
equipment, killed more than half of Japan's merchant fleet and a considerable number of
their war fleet.

historically, jap subs were great ( long range, fast on surface and under water...) but
here in NF... lol is wat i can say...

IJN SS3 is a good machine against anything, if you know how to use it properly.I can
kill Any KM driver with it, but also im KM ss3 driver.

bad thing about IJN subs = high auto miss chance
Good thing about Km subs= 90% hit rate

But, SS4 is coming, so anything can happen, km might lose their superiority against
other subs, but lets just wait and see what happens.

for now, we have only 4 ss. Who knows, if in a future they bring ss5 or ss6 with pss.
if so, Km subs will gain their superiority back! but for right now, that's it!.

Really good if no km subs on other team...

slow, good for anti-BB as far as i've found out.

sorry but to the people saying the ijn SS3 sucks dont know what they are talking
about, sure they arnt that great V's other subs but dont use them for that. the IJN
SS3 is a BB/CV rape machine. a good IJN SS3 player should be averageing about 60-
70k minimum a battle with 100k plus games not uncommon ( however this does
depend alot on crew )

while they only have 4 front tubes we also have the best torps ( tho duds can
sometimes be a pain ). and the extra crew slot is also a big help. and remember the
SS4 is comming soon so dont just think of the SS3 think ahead to the next sub, as
the 8 front torps with the extra crew slot is gonna be tastey :)

I have both IJN SS3 as KM SS3 and all I can say is go KM, don't doubt it for a second.

Sure they suck. They only have the torpedos with most range.

40 knts OH, sure 4 tubes suck, turnrate is poor but ship is ok.
