  • A differant ?Q? about seaman

Ok, so I did the search, and read most the threads, but i have 1 question for you
guys.
Assumeing that a seaman does actualy help your crew...(i know there is debate on
this)
It seems that a seamans ability to help other sailors is based on his stats in the
given catagory for that sailor.(ie: acc/rld to help gunners, rep/rest/eng to help
supports, ect.)

So would his potential/ability (the top catagory) help planesman and sonar, maybe
even medics?

@ the above poster. ^

He's right, the seaman will increase speed. Only before cap though. I was running a
seaman on my KM bb crew all the way to Kaiser. By the time I got h44 I was running 1
kt over my speed displayed in the harbor. IE It said I could go 36 but in game I was
actually hitting 37. When I removed the seaman I'd only hit 36.

"my ss was going at 34knt max before i put my seaman on, then i remove my
repairer
and place seaman on board in stead , my ss goes at 35knt when i put the seaman
on."

Could that possibly be because your repairer weighs more than your seaman?

eng stat on seaman does give boost to eng , i tested with ss today . although the
max speed of the ss displayed in the engine box in the habour doesnt increase .

my ss was going at 34knt max before i put my seaman on, then i remove my repairer
and place seaman on board in stead , my ss goes at 35knt when i put the seaman
on.

Would a 15 pot work better than a 12 pot if all other stats were the same?

But... Since seamen need pot ! what ability is added to my sailor Pot or the Exact
ability?

Example

Seamen with

978 Pot
69 acc
69 rel

My Gunners would get the 69 from accuracy or the 978 from Pot?

I havent found a correct answer, Some people say I need a seamen with +12 acc for
gunners but...
1.-풵hy does it need Pot and gets more POt when he converts into first seamen and
not other stats?
2.-풵hat is added to my gunner accuracy? Pot or Acc Ability showed?

It helps in most categories, but I only use a seamen on my submarine. I know it
helps on speed, repair, restore/soft defense.

Yes. I can confirm he helps a planesman, as my rate of air recharge on my UK SS3 is
10 seconds faster when I use a high level seaman. I have no data about sonar or
medics, but I would assume so.

I can personally attest to seaman increasing Repair, Restore, Engine (both overheat
time and speed), and Planesman. I know it helps acc/rld too, but my sailors were
capped by the time I got a measurable rate off my seaman, and seaman does not
raise abilities above a cap. I have not personally experimented with a seaman's
effect on aircraft, so I'll let others speak to that.
