Hello,

I recently started playing this game and have started to like it very much. Thus, I
would like to consider purchasing some of the NF Store Items. However, I would like
to request some clarifications before I make my purchase:

1.) I want to get a Premium Subscription, does purchasing of 1 last for 30 days
across all servers? Or is it only to 1 server?

2.) There is a Boosting Sailor Item, I lurked in the forum and noted that it increases
growth rate on a sailor. Is this item a Permanent Item? Meaning, once I purchase it
once for $2.99, will I be able to use it indefinitely?

3.) How long does it usually take between time of purchase and time that I can use it
in-game? Say I purchase a PCL Texas, do I get to use it immediately? Also, is it one
per server or across servers?

4.) Regarding Boosting, when is the ideal time to use it? For example:

USN Gunner Base Ability of 13 (Elite Accuracy Gunner)
If I boost him at Level 1, he'll gain a rounded down boost of 15 Accuracy? (Is my
understanding of boosting correct?) And will the 2 Accuracy growth increase be
maintained even as I class him up? Or will the boost periodically adjust to whatever
class he is in?

Because if I wait till he's a USN Armanent Sailor, his Base Ability will increase to 21 at
level 12 due to the +8 Bonus of the Class, if so, does it mean that the boost would
be 23? Or would it adjust to 25 (20% more of 21)? If so, would it then be better to
wait till level 12 or level 22 before applying to boost? Or does the boost adjust so
making level 1 the ideal time to apply?

Thank you for your time and clarifications.

lemme clear up boosting for you real quick, its pretty simple really:

if i take a lvl 100 acc gunner and boost him, he would be just as good as if i boosted
him at lvl 1 THEN leveled him to 100. the boost goes back and recalculates every
level up you got for that sailor so that you get the same effects from boosting early
as you do when you boost him later on.

hope it helped :)

You can play for free, but you have to invest more time.
Boosting sailors helps specially with gunners and engis, putting experts and
Veterans will increase the sailors ability a lot.

Thanks for the replies. :)

I just bought a Premium a few days back and I'm loving the improvement and bonuses.
Do you suggest I purchase some premium sailors/items/ships as well? Or do you think
the other NF Stores Items are really just frills?

Can I go by without boosting etc?

Sorry- dinner called :)

Low level CV's are difficult at times; you fighters will struggle to compete with
higher-level players until you reach higher levels yourself. Boosting your fighter now
will make quite a difference compared to other players of similar level. This boost is
permanent, and there is really no drawback to boosting your pilots early. If boosted now,
your pilot will have no difference than if you boosted him at level 1.

One other important factor is experts and veterans on a sailor. A combination of a boosts,
a fair number of experts/vets, and a bit of skill will make your fighters able to compete
with players many levels higher than you. Experts/vets can be gained without real money
(namely through use of AA and rolling vets).

I actually read that article and was slightly perplexed at how one can reach 90,000 True
Ability for the Bridge Operator Potential Ability and the like. :(

Recently, I rolled a 12 Fighter 11 Aircraft 11 Bomber Sailor and raised him up to Fighter
Class (Currently level 45). So is it alright to boost him (pay $3.00)? From my
understanding of your replies, it would be the same as if I boosted him when he was
still level 1 right? :D If so, its not too late for me. I thought I would've had to restart on
him since my friend told me its always best to boost at level 1 to get the Best stats. But
if I can get the same best stat at level 45 as it would be on level 1 then I would have
no more hesitation in buying the boost and at the same time, will no longer have to
restart. :D

Apologies for my persistence. I just want to be absolutely sure before I pay with real-
life money for a digital game. :)

"Also, just to further clarify, so if I apply a boost to a level 1 gunner or to a level 100
gunner, at the end of the grind (level 120), they'll have the same stats if they started
with the same base ability and same class tree?"

This is correct. A boost is a one-time application to a single sailor that will boost that
sailor's ability. Once applied, the sailor's stats will reflect the increase given. You
will even be able to tell which sailors are boosted; once boosted, a sailor will have a
medal placed their portrait that is visible in your shipyard and while trading.

As far as boosting all sailors; many sailors will reach an ability cap regardless of
boosting or not (gunners for example). Certain sailors are sometimes better off not
boosted (most bridge operators for example).

It's a bit meaty, but check out this thread for calculating sailor ability:

Thank you very much. :)

So Boosting isn't a permanent item, rather, it is a one-time use for the sailor whose
effects are then the permanent aspect of it. So does this mean that I'll have to buy a
Boost for every single Sailor I'll use? Or is this recommended?

Also, just to further clarify, so if I apply a boost to a level 1 gunner or to a level 100
gunner, at the end of the grind (level 120), they'll have the same stats if they started
with the same base ability and same class tree? So there's continual recalculations
per level?

So Base Ability 13:

Growth Levels Increase Actual Boosted
0 13 13 15
12 8 21 25
22 4 25 30
42 3 28 33
65 2 30 36

The Boosts would increase as follows?

1) Yes; premium is valid for the whole account across all servers.

2) Yes; boosts are permanent for the single sailor they are applied to.

3) Purchases are immediate, assuming your payment method has no delays. I've purchases
things while Alt-Tabbed out of the game, and been able to restore and use the new
ship/sailor item.

4) It doesn't matter when you boost a sailor. Two sailors with the same stats will be
identical after boosting, regardless of when the boost is applied. I tend to boost mine
earlier, as the increase in ability is noticeable pretty early.

Hope this helps- welcome to the game :)
