The issue that the Dev's don't wanna face is the fact that the subs will have to be
treated as a CV taking 1 of the 6 slots. In order to fix this problem they'd have to make
another ship type. Probably CVE's. In which case they could take the Oyodo, Mogami, and
Ise and throw them in there too.

Actually the IJN had several classes of aircraft equipped subs but the I-400/Sen Tokus
would make the most sense in NF

The MN had one in WW2 as well. Check out the Surcouf that had a scout and a set of dual
8"guns.Maybe a possibility as a future PSS........shrugs

The US,UK,German and Italian navies also played around with prototypes in the 20s and 30s
but never went anywhere with them.

Honestly I don't see plane equipped subs translating very well to NF game play but I guess
we'll see ;-)

Only 1 submarine for ijn is capable to carry planes, I-400. but that submarine is not
implemented yet. There is a source, which iim having the feeling, we may see ss5-
ss6 in the future, but im not sure if they are bringing PSS. But, is french going to be
the only nation with ss5 and ss6, or all nations are going to have them? if you look,
at france, ship tree branch, then go to the bottom part, at the ss line, you will see
there is 6 ss, but 4 of them are out. if all nations get ss5 and ss6, the ijn sub that
will get planes on ss, will be ss5 as minimum, and ss6 for sure. but I-400 is the one
that is going to be able to carry planes.

No current IJN submarines can carry any aircraft. Whether or not that changes in the
future remains to be seen.
