  • What about SSs?

Well, i was wondering, what's special about the MN SSs

i mean, we have the IJN with the most torps launchers, Germans with their proximity stuff and speed, US and UK pretty
balanced.

So, what do the MN SSs have? agility? speed? guns? what? :P

Just to clarify some things.

Torp damage is ranked #3, after IJN and KM (not taking into account the reload time, as
this would result in being placed #5, when it comes to DPS).
There is another tier of torps, which deal more damage but can't be used atm, as submarine
weapons can't be changed. They seem to be for SS5/SS6 (makes sense, as the damage
increases by 2000).

I didn't test it at all, but when it comes to divetimes, it should be looked at more
closely, as the mentioned times weren't really measured under the same conditions.

Other than that, they seem to be on par with UK. Not a bad choice, but same crap for every
tier. The longer reload is compensated by having more torpedoes.

According to the other MN Sub thread MN subs get more dive time (at least more than USN,
IJN and KM... no info about RN) and even higher torp damage than IJN... the splash damage
is also great... cons are very bad reload (more than 90secs on T1 and T2 vs. up to 60secs
on all other nations' T1s and T2s, same goes for T3 and 4) and no real range difference
between fast and slow torps as well as low range at all...

At least thats what they said in the other thread...

That makes them an excellent first strike ship against big targets... but when it comes to
reloading (for example against small targets like DDs or enemy subs) they are screwed...

MN subs to me seem to be a balance between UK and IJN sub lines,

ss1 = 6 front 1 back torps (2 support slots)
ss2 = 6 front 2 back torps (3 support slots)
ss3 = 6 front 2 back torps (4 support slots)
ss4 = 6 front 2 back torps (4 support slots)

and yes have a look at the thread Lan_ex has highlighted in his post

JimmyRoX is Chilean, I barely know him :P so he doesn't share anything with aswome. lul

Anyway, MN are slightly above average. Have everything other nations, but proxy torps.
Splash damage is more than nice, sometimes I have whooped lil' ships and even PBBs with it.

By the way, free3, maceg and me started to analyze the MN sub line on this thread:

I'm just curious.

Is JIMMYROX somehow related to JIMMYAWSOME?

Both share the same first name, and have similar, self-aggrandizing and self-praising
adjectives after it (rocks vs awesome). I'm seeing a pattern here.

Notice that MN are supposed to have bad DP (Damage Point)

However our subs have more DP then IJN and KM, lawl.

I find that MN sub torp have nice splash damage. Decent speed as well.

However they have short range.

Overall, balanced in my opinion.

No they dont have,
And also, MN subs got more tubes than IJN...
IJN SS1= 6 front 0 rear
MN SS1= 6 front 1 rear
And i think IJN and MN SS2 got the same amount of tubes.
While MN SS3 wins agian, and while MN SS4 got the same amount of tubes as IJN
SS4, the IJN one only got front tubes.

Also, UK SS is also having about the same amount of as MN from SS2... (UK SS1 got
the standard 4 front 0 rear)
