Very nice idea *recommended*
Just the only catch would be that these games should be VERY clearly marked in some way as on going, to avoid confusion of players, such as low levels who are new to the game.
My only concern about this idea is if it would put extra strain on the servers, which already have minor connection problems for people. Also, it may put a little more strain on a players connection. Both of these may mean there could be lag caused by it for some players.
