  • KGV 16 Dguns?

hi all

i have a Lvl 76 KGV crew with lvl 86 gunners and i was wondering what other guns
can we have on the KGV Other than the 14 inch N

Trainworld is out of date on the KGV classification.
Since the BB3-4 patch the KGV has been a BB2.

It's actually BB3 according to trainworld.

I pretty much just got it and played couple rounds. First of all, I really can't say if I love it for
blockshoting superpower, or hate it for it's range.

I tried to play it as a ship of the line, but after first round I realized, that because of it's short range
it's pretty much pointless. So I switched for the more common 4/2 setup and I must say I'm more
satisfied with it. More armour, more speed and hitting power remains decent enough for me at least.

KGV = King George V Class BB
I think its a BB2 but I am not sure about that.

Originally, I thought I would ignore the KGV with the QE, the gun placements just seemed
too bizarre. Then one day I tried out the quads and loved it. It's such a refreshing
change from the two 45 degree gun grinds of the Yammy and the Iowa. The ship also seems
MADE to fight larger BBs, which are everywhere in today's Great Battle. My QE simply does
not seem able to compete with larger BBs to the same extent. Of course, the QE would be
better in a BB2 room...but how many of those are there?

My KGV had a 4/2/4 setup SW with the 14" Ns. The back gun was heavy and seemed tacked on
but I still did end up using it a fair bit. Other times I simply used the front guns for a
conventional rush. The penalty to this approach was, of course, a couple knots of speed.

It is actually kind of fun to go through all the different gun types of the KGV/PoW. The
one thing I won't do is armor the ship though.

i got this ship 2 days ago at like 1 am so its more like yesterday to me but i found
the best way that works for me is trip 16d with light shells and the dual 14n
(blockshotting gun) with light also then full deck. i fit about 10" of deck on with this
setup and can bounce most bb4 and smaller. i still go 35 oh which helps get in range
and the 16 have a nice punch with a decent spread and less chance of completely
missing as the block shotting 14 quads.

Quad SW and Mk III N AW or SW are the only serious setups.

Everthing else is for fun and not to be taken seriously.

Yea... I've just gotten the KGV and so far for me it's very much like playing a sub, some
games you will unleash holy hell and others you won't get a taste...

Still trying to figure out what's the right way of playing this thing... going through all
the suggested set ups...

Heavy armour and 2 16" D, all quads...

Naked running at 45knts with 16 Ds...

Need to try the heavy and naked set up with the Mk IIIs...
