I couldnt find information on this, but I would like to know do you have to buy new
ships in order... Example if you have a Somers and a level 30 BO do you have to buy the
DDX then you can get the CL Atlanta or can you go straight to the CL Atlanta from
having just a Somers?

In retrospect, I should have stayed in my DDX until Northampton.

The firing arcs on the Atlanta give me fits sometimes.

The Baltimore will do well enough. Also, one could host their own blitzes and choose the
larger maps...

So for blitz, Baltimore is better? ... .... ..... Cause in blitz they play alot of hobbit
wars and so its alot of small ships (with the occasional BB and CV and CA) running around
and everyone close together.

I personally prefer to go experience all of the ships in the ship tree. Really, it
depends on what you're doing with the each ship.

AA/ASW combo in GB, or running in close (acting like a giant DD) in Blitz: Brooklyn

Pure AA in GB: Cleveland (Though you may want to ultimately get the Baltimore for the
extra crew slot)

Acting as an old-style CL/CA (CL/CA rooms and Blitzes that aren't on Hobbit War):
Cleveland, then Baltimore when you get it (think Cleveland with more firepower, range, and
better spread. If slightly worse speed.). And once you can get the Alaska, using it as a
bigger, faster (if less agile) Baltimore, with some more AA ammo, and rather longer range
(if worse spread).

whats the best after the brook? (cleveland, baltimore, or wait for alaska)?

You can buy any ship you want so long as a BO has chosen it in his ship tree.

The only exception to that rule are remodels, like the Guam. They aren't directly on the
ship tree but a remodel of one that is there (alaska). For those you need the base ship
and then pay a non-refundable fee to remodel them.

btw to add to the current offtopic debate that started about brook:

it sux. sure nice, firepower, but crap range. I consider an HAWing atlanta the superior CL.

Brook is little more than an oversized DD and a noob dispatcher. If you want to take on
GOOD CL2/CA you'll need a cleveland with 8" dual and decent gunners.

Baltimore however really is a great CA. Slim profile, good durability, good spead, good
range, firepower and spread. And if you are leveling AA gunners, the best AA battery of
all CAs. Even tough KM PS line have better AA guns, the gun arc on them is kinda suckish.

If you like the Brook, you'll love the Baltimore.

The nice thing about all of those ships is you can load up both 6/47s and 3/70s and
have both long range high power and close range rapid reload AA awesomeness.

When your spread finally gets decent, you can switch the main guns to 8" and
support your BB's by taking down rushing subs, DD's, and CL's so they can focus on
the far line.

yeah dude if you like the Atlanta your gonna like the brook even more because the firing
arcs are a ton better on the brook, the Atlanta (and its remodels) have the worst firing
arcs of any ship i have played so far

if your good in the Atlanta you will be good in the Brook.

One of the best CL's in the game and similar can be said for the Baltimore. (although not
quite as stand out as the Brooklyn.)
