Okay, just got my Vickers, but a couple problems occured. So heres my questions:
1. I dont start battle with a half tank of oxygen nor does it refill any faster with my
planesman. Whats wrong?
2. My engy does nothing, he just sits there as dead weight.
3. No one plays GB, so I must GB2, and that kills me fast. Any tips for SS1 in GB2?

Hmmm. Level 3 and wants to know about ss air supply.

Sounds like he just wants 10 points. He has done this many times before.

pichu10000 is a waste of time. Don't even bother to read his posts.

First you need BVE your planesman. Only it could max the air and go slowly under the
clouds ( If there is any ) then dive until you get to BBs. First thing first. Sink the
DDs, CLs FFs because they can detect you and have the capability of HH or DC you.
Secondly, go for their BBs or CVs. Try to torp higher level ship so you can get more exp
out of it. Also IJN SS1 don't need eng YET. It's already slow and load eng on it's eating
your weight/speed. If it's BVE then it's different story.

It's best that you work your BO to IJN SS2 only make another BO for BB line with the eng.
So you can train those crew together and benefit from another BO line. It's your call.
Your decision/choice to make. I personally have a BO that keep as light as possible just
for the Kitakami. Once any sailor reach on level 50, you can load it up on Kitakami ( Need
to be as light as possible though ). With good torper on Kitakami you can earn like
10k~30k exp in a battle. And after your sailor reach on the level you wanted only BVE
them. It makes your job easier for you. Anything else just hope onto me in game or message
me.

Well, I really can't add that much to what has been said.

If you don't have full O2 at the start then you have Planesman in the wrong place or are
missing crew level in Planesman.

I think the other guys answered your Engy question best. I would add, though, that some of
the guides I have read say that IJN support crews are not all that hot. My engy on my SS3
is in the 60s and he does help the OH but not much more than that.

I actually enjoyed the Vickers. There is a thread about the Vickers where people posted
their best attack in a game. I never matched any of those guys for the most part but once
I got used to the Vickers I had a lot of fun with it. My first kill was a KM BB.

i have a elite engie at 2 levels above my BO and he slows the sub down by 1KT but
a massive increase to OH time, but the IJN ss1 is i think the slowest, i thought the
uk H type was bad but........................

and as has been said full crew on planes, sonar and torp, dont use thedeck gun but
put your second torper in there as u will need him for SS2

always have full crew in ur sonar and planesman. ur engies add to overheat time
and they need to of higher level. if u have a bb line u shld have got a higher lvl eng.

in gb2 stay close to friendly bb's and give them asw sservices. u can hold ur own
against ss as u r small.dont engage them right away but wait for them to concerate
on ur bb's first.them get into action .

always remember a live ss even ss1 is important to the team
good luck:)

Could you post screenshots of the planesman and engineer? Depending on the engineer's
true ability in engine (see adalbert's guide for details), he may be adding no speed and
only a small amount of overheat time. As for the planesman, does he have full crew, or is
he missing some recruits?

He is perfectly right.

1) I assume you have a planesman, NOT a support sailor (the latter is a reason why your
tank is empty at the start of the battle) sitting in your service slot. Are his recruits
maxed out? Always refill them.

2) Your best bet is a +12 Engine Engie with as many vets and experts as possible. He may
not add a knot, but for sure he enhances your overheat time as well as adds up to
restoring and repairing a bit.

3) Nothing more to add. Wait at least two minutes before you engage. Patience is
everything and Tier 1 SS are practically floating coffins. Try to avoid dogfights with SS
2-4. Swim surfaced until you get shot at, then start diving. You have very little air in a
SS1. Try to get the BBs with low speed torps splash damage.

1. Is he in a support slot? Otherwise he will not function.

2. What level/BVE is your engineer? Low level/unvetted engineers tend to not do too much
if anything.

3. Don't rush right at the beginning, try to wait a little and then start towards their
line. Hopefully some of the ASW ships will have been killed off, and the BBs will be
distracted line battling and not notice you.
