  • Fun Algerie setup

So...decided to try some stuff on algerie, and this setup actually ended up working
pretty well, managed to do 50k attack in a battle plus 1k in scouts and fighters. You
need to have 2 sets of decent gunners.

Unfortunately there is 1 slot that can't be used...there is no single to match the level
20 3.5" guns...so the one single I did try(none of them work) fell hilariously short.



Usually my main guns carry the dual 3.5s and the secondaries are Hedgehogs, but I
decided for a change :P

The problem with the quads is that they are way above the ship level. I too used
them before, but you get crap range in them for a CA, you get a lot more with the
dual 8" guns. Also the quad guns are level 62 to even getting them, so you will be
out of blitz and hopefully for the most part out of that ship (unless running 2 BOs).
Since courbet is at level 54, you probably won't use them until you get in the Lyon,
then the lyon is just more fun so...pointless.

Another setup that might be viable for Blitz is to AW it..... :) I slapped on 7.6" worth of
belt, and could still fit the 6.1" trips on it with ample amounts of ammo

Using the quad 5s for aa is the way to go i think (least on that ship). they dont hit
quite as hard as the trip 6s (diffence isnt much, still 1 shot most scouts), but the extra
barrels more than makes up for it.

On my Algerie, i use the quads 5s loaded with full aa, and use the lvl 49 3.9s on my t
slots. the lvl 49s dont do much damage, but it is enough to scare away most dds and ss. if
not, you can put out alot of shells in a short time to make up for the small damage and
the fact that you only have 3 guns

I tested the quads but there were no advantages over classic 6" triples.

Iv'e used your exact set up except for AA purposes only. 5 Binds of AA can deal sum
serious damage and the spread gets pretty tight when your gunners get 70+. Also the 3" are
pretty scary. The spread sucks yes but when your gunners are at least 70+ It is well worth
it. Tried my courbet with my LvL60 gunners as my maina nd my 70+Gunners as my AA and my
god...The courbet and Lyon has some fearsome AA that a lot of people will underestimate. I
can't wait for the Richelieus AA x__X.

Well personally I don't like the 3.5" very much... they have insane range, but their
target area for default planes seems to be very small... not to mention the spread... my
level 50 gunners still suck with them... but maybe that changes at higher levels...

5 binds in quad guns just runs out so fast...it's better to use a gun with alot more
ammo than that, especially when you have access to an AA gun with the range of
the 3.5s. I have actually run out of 18 binds on the 3.5s in battle before...

I hope I can use the quad 5.1" by the time I reach Tourville... but why don't you use them
as AA guns? 16 barrels would be great against incoming planes.
