Just got my Oberon tonight and it has left me with a couple questions. My R slot gun
doesn't work, so is it broken? I have a level 36 gunner on it and it says required level
is 16 so why doesn't it work? Also, my rear torpedo tubes don't work. The torpedo man on
them is level 36 (couldn't level him up with my H type), what's the required level for the
torpedo tubes or are these broken as well?

I enjoy the gunner on subs, usually it means finishing off a DD, CL, or CA that pose a threat with
depth charges or HH. Surfacing and firing the sub gun reduces risk of a crippled ship sinking ya.

The damage is nice, but you have to ask: is it worth putting a gunner on or could i
make more use out of a restorer or repairer?

Just to be totally sure, you put ammo in the gun right? :P

Don't let these others put you off of having a gunner in the R slot. It's amazing the
damage that little thing can do, especially to frigates and destroyers. I've lost count
of the number of times I've surfaced to deal with asw light ships, taken them down with
the deck gun, then dived to kill another bb or two.

It's not the constant aid that an extra support would be, but it can be both fun and a
life-saver.

I agree with cambs. IF you decide not to go with a rep/rest, your gunner needs to
be at level with the ship if i remember correctly. Subs are weird like that, they say
you need one thing and you need something else.

Still, i recommend you stick with a rep/rest so you can get a little extra survivability
on the surface and in ss vs ss battles.

dont bother with a gunner put a decent rep/rest on there and make your SD high it
can mean giving you the chance to get your last 2 torps off into th side of that CV6
to sink it

My torpedoman needed to be level 37 to get it to work. I decided not to mess around with
the R slot and just put a repairman on it for the time being, although I might try to get
my gunner to level 37 to use it.

I believe the torp men need to be at level 42, which is the same as the ship level. Not
too sure about the gun, but I doubt it is broken; it may very well need a level 42 gunner.

Not that you'd want a gunner on the R-slot though. =/
