  • Blockshoting - at what lvls can we do it?

    04. 15. 2010 05:36

RequiemBob
I got myself a BB1 (Renown) and i wanted to know what lvls around the blockshot happens.
My RLD gunners are the starting ones (dont have a clue what stats they had) and are
experted/vetted and lvl 60. 250 experts, 90 vets, full recruits.
My spread is ok (take this with salt - my ok comes from doing HA with a surrey) however i
only land 3 or so shells from the mkII L x2 15''
Around what lvl do i need to blockshot or have a decent spread with these guns?
If you cant block with them, which UK guns along the Repulse line do block, and around
what lvls of experts and vets do i need to be able to do it?

****EDIT****
discovered the search function and is it true i need around 1800 acc on my gunners?
They only have around 1200/1300 but 1900ish rld? So that means at +35 around 18 more lvls
till they can blockshot, k? So around lvl 78 till the Repulse/Renown can blockshot (grabs
a nelson off the shelf the next lvl and finds he cant hit anything~)

With the amount of vets/experts you have, boosting your sailor will have a great influence
on your true ability, and should bring you to the reload cap and improve your spread.
But you will reach the acc cap at ~78 (will have a usable spread anyway before of course)

100 vets, as many experts as you can put on your gunners, and a few recruits (like 10
recruits or so) so you lose recruits when you get hit by crits, rather than losing your
hard-earned experts/veterans. =)

Heh. BVE fully. About that. I dont know what fully is. I have lvl 61 RLD gunners with 90
Vets and 200 experts. Is that fully BVE?
And I like my current spread on the renown. It is around the length of a monty anyways an
sometimes the shells stick together tightly and i get a baby blockshot from one gun.

@RequiemBob
Depends which 15" set you are talking about.

15" Mark IIs (for the Revenge/Renown) has good spread at level, and that is why most
people love Revenge.

15" Mark IIIs (for the UK BB2-BB3) has decent spread at level, but can be random at times.
Sometimes the spread is very tight, sometimes it can be the length of a Monty.

15" Mark IVs (for the Vanny) has decent spread at level. Some people like the spread, some
people hate it. Personally I found it useable at level, but not great, so don't expect too
much out of it with at level gunners. At higher levels, the spread becomes pretty good.

Of course, we're assuming you've BVE'd your gunners fully. =)

So how tight can the 15'' duals get with their spread?

***EDIT****
And i already have 4 different UK BO's below lvl 60. Pew Pew!

I believe the only UK guns that have really tight spread to complete blockshots are the
following:

6" trips.
8" trips.
14" quads.
L1 trips.
L2 trips.
QV trips.

The one I'm not so sure about is the Nelson/Vanguard/POW trips.

On the contrary, Dunk spread will stay iffy even at lvl120. Although, at level 120,
you're at least consistently hitting within BB3 lengths; mostly scoring near blockshots.
The duals will most likely never blockshot. You'd be lucky if the spread gets within BB3
lengths. It was made that way on purpose, so don't worry about it. It isn't your gunners
that is the problem.

thanks for the clarification on that, just needed some pointers on what i seemed to be doing wrong.
obviously need the boosts, thats the most important thing imho. my dunkerque spread is currently
varying from game to game, sometimes its half decent (like when i got an amagi down half health, he
was blind, then he found out who it was, and sunk me, got about 80k attack which isn't terrible but
its not great either) and then a game later i ended up with like 10k attack cause the spread was
getting everything but the ship that i was aiming for. great for a long range spray on noobs but later
on in the game it was terrible.

seriously though i can't wait till i get the kgv.

@wolf454
The QE guns and Dunk guns never reach true blockshot, as previously stated before. Dunk
spread, at level, is atrocious, and spread does not get better until at least in the high
70s-low 80s. At level 100+, spread becomes very tight, and it will appear to be blockshot
(though it is NOT blockshot).

QE spread can be almost as worse, but has slightly more hitting power. For QE, spread is
an issue at level and will not become better until 70ish, and that's why some people
prefer grinding the Revenge rather than QE with at level crew.

should really get to it.what level would i be expecting my guys to get a really tight spread or this so
called blockshot thing happening?
