Hi, im planning to get a Uk BB later on and i wanted to know if i should class Reload
gunners or Accuracy gunners. And is there any differences other then the Reload gunner
being able to reload faster and the accuracy gunner being able to shoot more accurately?

Hmm - good point about the weight; I would guess classing exactly on time is a
matter of reaching those caps sooner rather than later, but I can see how that
would convey a weight disadvantage in later levels.

I suppose the proper response then is: "To each their own."

EDIT: On further consideration, I'd still recommend classing as soon as possible, so
that A) you have less to micromanage, and B) if they revise the caps again like
they've already done, you won't have to level up a new pair of gunners. The weight
issue can be managed by taking off rookies once you've reached the cap, and if they
revise the upper bounds, just right click and *poof* you're on your way to reaching
the new one.

What's the point in having more crew on a sailor that is capped in the ability you
desire?(i.e. reload and accuracy in a gunner, torpedo in a torpedoman etc.)

Surely you are not implying that somehow having more crew helps a sailor above it's true
ability cap?

What marchi suggested is perfectly viable(I did this myself on my UK gunners). You keep a
balanced growth in both accuracy and reload while not letting your gunners become
overweight. You reach the accuracy cap faster(even with the decreased crew gain, which is
only an issue if you expert every single extra 10 rookies you gain) and you should reach
the reload cap soon after with the increased reload gain once you class them as reload.

Aside that, fighter looses crew and bomber ability when classed above fighter pilot. KM AA
gunners loose accuracy and gain nothing when classed above AA gunners.

In short, having more crew helps nothing if:
1. You don't convert those rookies to experts.
2. You are above the true ability cap.

It's all about the performance/weight ratio.

@ JosephLittle: Unless Adalbert's Guide on Ability has been rendered moot by some
ninja-patch somewhere, then that old fallacy is neither old, nor fallacious.

"Marchi, if you do that, then you're losing crew"

So?

"crew is more important than the absolute
max ability in each"

You seem to have a misconception on how total crew relates to shown ability and how that
produces true ability.

"Class on Time, Class on Time, I must always
remember to Class on Time."

Old fallacy.

go JAPAN, get Yummy, own vanguard. Well IJN only class in one direction, it's less
confusing. RN may be great at the beginning but soon it sux.

Marchi, if you do that, then you're losing crew - crew is more important than the absolute
max ability in each. Repeat this mantra: "Class on Time, Class on Time, I must always
remember to Class on Time." (with the added caveat of: "Unless I'm going for Non-KM AA
gunners. Or Powerleveling a BO.")

i didnt say both caps, only acc cap considering it is way easier to cap it than reload,
and than after u class as reload all the way up, ull get reload cap soon after.
also regarding crew growth, gunners are the lighter the better

or u can class em as heavy gunners rld until they are caped
