2 weeks ago i did buy a ijn machine gunner now i read you can't use it.
so does that means that i can dismiss them?

It is only a speculation.
There are no proof regarding aaw's cap from the ship. I find it incoherent to
introducing aaw ships caps when the mg/aa/rf were supposed to make them
performing better.

Now, if they meant sailor aaw ability, that's different.


Also, we can't really say what they are supposed to do since
they are broken abilty.
IJN machine gunners were remove because they didnt work well (didnt work at all
sounds better :) ?)

Reason why they put machine gunners again for french and japanese, is
developpers scheduling a fix about it. Yet, no patch or announcement has been
made regarding that type of sailor.
I think I have sent about 3-4 support ticket about the situation and most of the
time, replies were '' scheduling a fix''.

Also, there is something incoherent, perharps it's me, but what I understand from
your last post elliot, nothing will happen because you don't have
sailors providing aaw ability.

Now, may I ask UK/USN/ IJN ship at low level who does not have sailor
providing aaw, but we still can see the ship itself having their aaw firing agaisnt
planes?

You see, there is something wrong. Informations sometimes are not well stated.

Either they fail making patch or they fail stating the information.

It doesn't specify which ships, I think it's more a general statement for all ships,
since to get aaw is from sailors.

So therefore if you had a DD crew with none of its' sailors with any aaw ability, you
wouldn't have any aaw. If you have any sub with any aaw on any sailor you will get
aaw.

That's how interpreted the mod from the patch, unless you sent in a support ticket
and that said differently.

Be careful on the last patch. The last patch said that SHIPS with zero AAW (the only
ones being just 3 subs, I forget with ones) will have no AAW. It did not say anything
about sailors AAW ability.

Well IJN AA gunners arn't broken, these sailors allow you to unlock the A guns. Also
the 4.7 duals, that are commonly used on the B65, yamato, super yamato, and most
likely see on the amagi as well.

However the way to class the aa ijn is broken, since you lose reload and accuracy if
you class at level, the proper way to class them is get both gunners preferably
11/11 base stats, class them up to armament sailors.

After that a lot of people say wait till atleast level 70 until you class them, but the
longer you wait the better they will get. So therefore the best IJN AA gunners you
can have is Elite Reload gunners kept as an armament sailor until level 120.

I didn't class mine until level 87 (base 10/11) and they work great now, they reload
capped around 110 on the 4.7 duals.

The reason why you shouldn't care about aaw stat like angus said previous it is
broken. If you have any kind of aaw on any of your sailors, your ship will have aaw
come off of it, since the last patch if none of sailors have any aaw ability then your
ship will not get aaw.

The other reason why it is broken, your ship will get the total amount of aaw as it
can give out. For instanceif you have a SY with total ability of all its crew aaw is 1000
and another SY with total ability of aaw is 3000. They will both give out the same
amount of aaw. The reason say a monty gives out more than a SY is because
different lines give out a different amount, US does the most then its UK then MN,
not sure if its KM or IJN next, but you get the idea.

Therefore it is broken because you can have tons of aaw ability on your entire SY
crew and never get US aaw on your ship. Their are aaw caps on each ship on how
much aaw they can produce and put out. These caps are very easy to reach pretty
much if you have aaw stat you've reached the cap.

I would say don't dismiss until you put up screen shots of both of them, so we can
see their abilities, and what level they are, as well as their growth rates.

Dismiss if it is low leveled and not much vets. That save u a slot for something
usefull for now. They are useless for now, however french got mac right? so might
be usefull some day. If the one u just bought has good vets, u could keep it or resell.

Sorry for resurrecting a week old thread, but as of today the IJN "Machine Gunner"
classing is available for level 40 IJN AA gunners. If it was removed at some point in the
past, it is most definitely back presently, I have two on the Nelson server that can be
classed as such right this moment.
Now whether or not it (or the AAW stat) actually DOES anything is another matter....

AAW and Aicraft stats are disabled, they DONT WORK!
Wich means if you got a IJN machine gunner and he has 99 in base in AAW he wont
make your AAW a tad better.
