I though that if you classed that late your crew would get penalized due to crew
number...

I classed them at 104 because I coudn't/can't/will never be able to afford NF items store.
That is why I classed them extremely late.
I have them like 140 -160 vets on them and max *experted*

But which level did you class your AA, richard?

Sorry for the necro, but my question is related to the subject of the topic.

I am thinking on training a pair of AA Gunners for the pompom after seeing one of my
fighter squads gets anihilated by an L2 useing it (and I mean like, in just a few seconds,
couldn't even move my fighters alway), but I would like to know which level should I
class the sailor (considering I plan on getting +12, Boosted, 109 Vets, full experts)?

They weren't classed at level and weren't classed very late either.
My unboosted base 12 reload armament lvl 97 got about 1900 ability.

being a pom user myself, im gonna give you my experience with em.

i actually got mine at lvl 100 boosted elites from someone, so now at lvl 118 they
have +11 reload with 1607 ability..so if someone can do the math and figure out if
they were classed late let me know.

i tried using them on a emerald, but they were kinda bad for some reason.
when used on l2 with its 8aa gun slot...they were pretty decent for defence.
fighters are very difficult(near impossible) to kill especially if they are higher level
fighters, pom just lacked the shells damage to offset their fast speed. bombers and
scouts are fairly decently easy to kill, gotta get the angle right or you will miss em
but you are capable of taking down most(rarely will you get all) before you get
bombed.

now at qv level..something changes. or atleast it did for me, maybe it because i
concentrate on vets(both my gunners have 170 vets 0 experts) because every time i
got to 150 experts id burn em for conversion, its a fast way of getting vets.
Maybe it was the increase in guns..since QV has 12slots!!

at this point..poms become in my experience..straight out AWESOME. NOTHING..and
i do mean NOTHING survives my poms once in range, not even lvl 120 fighters
change height or not, once its in range it gets overwhelmed with shells and taken
down. im now letting my aa gunners actually keep their experts.

so basically, poms kinda suck until you get to bb6.


---oh and yes aa gunners only good for aa gun pretty much, honestly i wouldnt
recommend using anything other than poms for aa.

YOu get pompoms at AA gunner, lvl45. AA gunners are oNly useful for pompoms. RP10s are to
be used by rld gunners.

My armourment crew at 103 have yet to hit the AA reload cap, being 10/12 base, even if I
BVE them with 109 Vets.


So class them VERY late if you need to use RP10A
