Apply boost as soon as possible, also apply exp and vets to the max possible.

This will help a lot while leveling in low/mid levels.

After lvl 70 not that much help anymore.

Throw away your restorer and get 6 engies and rest repairers. repair rate has a cap so boost
not so much needed, engie need full everything for more OH time.

From a purely technical standpoint (yes, some fleetmates and I got bored and did the
math), you get the largest possible gain from the boost if you apply it to your gunner
right after you promote him to his highest tier. This is due to how the rounding works.

HOWEVER, the difference is negligible and due to the ability cap, which the gunner will
probably hit in only a few more levels, if he hasn't already hit it, you probably won't
see a significant difference so late in the game, anyway. So it's a waste.

As a practical matter, the level doesn't matter. Boost whenever you want. But the longer
you wait, the closer you get to the ability cap, the less time the boost will actually
make a difference in the gunner's performance. Bottom line, the end results are the same
no matter when you boost. Boost early to gain the most benefit. It won't make a shred of
difference later on.

well don't lock these threat just open it so people can see it and know that boost can be
applied at any level but personally i will put boost around level 40-50 i don't know why but
all my sailors around that level.


in my opinion rather then worried about the time for boost you should worried about the
base of the sailor before you applied the boost hehe ^.^

for me +11 and +12 or +13 elite is deserve to be boosted

Doesnt matter what lvl u boost them. But as for my personal experience, a boost
doesnt really matter for FF, DD, CL, CA. You really feel the difference when you just
got your BB1.

But yeah as said above, doesnt matter when you boost them. The boost always
counts back to lvl 1 and then adds 20%. Then goes to lvl 2 and adds 20%, etc.

Boosting sailor is a premium item, doesent matter when you do it, result is same.
If you mean classing, like turn sailors to support or armed sailors, then its pretty
much what the guy before me said about DP Gunners.
Support sailors, generally got to be classed instantly when possible.

Good thing your training a AA gunner, but the ijn AA gunner is a bit complicated
First, you'll choose the DP gunner (trust me, your only option)
But don't just classed it right away, or it will suck at higher lvl, what you wanna do is
keep it as an arm sailor as long as you can,people usualy say that the minimun is lvl
62, but i'm on the other hand have them on 75 and will only class at 80+
Why you want to do that? When you class your arm sailor as dp gunner, he'll loose
reload grow to get aaw gros, but aaw is a disabled ability, and reload is extremely
important for dp gunners
Yes that means you'll pretty much have 2 useless sailors until lvl 62+, but thats not
quite truth, the only ijn bbs with decent AA are the pbb,yammy and SY, the pbb
pretty much sucks, so you don't need it, so you'll only need to use them for AA at
yammy lvl, and keeping them as arm sailors will give them more XP
for the others bbs you can have them operate HH, for sub killing

Oh that's cool, cause I sometimes boost them at a higher lvl. Someone once said it's
better to class them as early as possible since it influences ability growth rate or
simething.

Boosts do not increase recruits or level. They increase the base ability by 20%.
