I'll throw my hat in the ring for the SoDak.....

I ran two BOs up the US BB line though NewMex and Colorado (to get
gunners/supports above BO) to the SoDak and have since levelled one of them
through to the Iowa.

I then took a level 79 CV BO (I had two of those as well to level pilots) and reset him
over so I could run the NorCal line.

Even with gunners/supports in the mid 90's levels now for the NorCal, I still found
the SoDak (at that time with late 80's/early 90's gunners/supports) to outperform
the NorCal.

Maybe it just suits my playstyle better, but the SoDak takes it hands down. More
than once I used the speed of the SoDak to get me into range for some blind shots
and back out of trouble to repair up. The NorCal doesn't have this luxury and I find
that once I've taken some decent damage, my game is over.

Hopefully this gives you an idea of why I qualify to give an opinion on this...

Play some BB123s and you will wish you had Opro 2 or Bismark. I have all 4 and I must say
O2 is probobly my favorite BB to play. Nocal has nice damage, Sodak has nice speed, but in
the end both have more weaknesses then strengths. Short range main guns and AA along with
an inconsistant spread puts them at a disadvantage in 1v1 situations.

Sodak definintly by lvl 100 is the best of the BB3s.

I have both of the line. I prefer sodak.

I hated them both at first! Or at least till I hit the speed caps. Sodak is a great rushing
bb, nothing else can be said. Line fighting in it is not that great of an idea.

NC is an in-between line fighter to rushing bb. I was able to fill both roles with it and
found the hit and run those occupied bb4s and bb5s and line fighting bb3s and below
the best tactics.

Do them both, then go back to them at lvl 95 or so and have lots of fun!

I personnaly prefer sodak, but its more for the h4x speed.

NC play more like iowa than sodak does, but not totally like it. Also sodak has a better
at level spread (it sux but its better) and makes it a better first line in my mind, then
as kelvin said, you take another BO and go the NC line with above level gunners.

I personnally think however it has absolutely nothing to beat a good bissy, while sodak
has its speed that gives it a possibility to attack about anything.

For sodak line you get the brook which you can use to aa with later, and you also get the
baltimore.. a Great ship for all things supportish. For BB1 you get the guam which for me
is the most entertaining of the US BB1's. BB2 you can get the colorado... a Great BB2.
And BB3= sodak... which is not that much different from NC but is faster. Speed=life in
US bb And you will rarely get TB'd successfully due to the pretty amazing aaw on the sodak.

Did you worry about what BB2 would prep you for BB3? Don't stress you have LOTS of lvls
to learn how to use iowa until BB5. Sodak is the superior BB3 imo.

I already have an Iowa thru the SoDak line and I will admit I suck at Iowa bigtime! This
is due I am very used to a speedy, 40 degrees rapist SoDak. I am leveling a 2nd BO
thru NC line and currently at Nevada. My goal is to reach NC, get used to it then try
Iowa again.

I didn't find NC to be significantly different then Iowa. I found the playstyles to be
very similar. NC's glass jaw is gone and it can take some pretty nasty hits..The one
thing that it doesn't do well that Iowa does is turn, and it doesn't have the hax
hitbox. But otherwise it plays like the Iowa as far as I'm concerned.

They both have random spreads, and they'll both always have your occasional "WTF
was that?" spread. But both of them group up pretty well at the higher levels, so in
this they're just about the same. NC's 45* guns will have a longer hang time, tho, so
you'll have to watch out for that.

I own both NC and Sodak, so I can't say I wish I had one or the other. Lol.

1) NC. Its just more like the Iowa , tho the Iowa is still very different
2) I think Sodak has slightly better spread but thats compensated with NC having more
Shell damage.
3) I have an NC and wish i had a Sodak . My Firepower isn't an advantage neither is my
Range (sure the range is ok and better than Sodak ) , wish i had the very good speed sodak
has :|
